i go to a school of retards who always complain to me that i shouldn't listen freddie mercury cause of his sexuality and cause of death from aids.
Literally the younger generation have gotten more narcissistic about music. Now they care about what singers appearance is and making sure the sexuality is straight.
I'm not saying every young person of the age of 10-18 are like this but you got to respect the man and his music. If freddie mercury didn't exist; multitracking wouldn't be as popular as it is today and now energetic live performances from other great musicians.

HIV/AIDS was highly stigmatised then and still is. I don't think it's limited or specialised to the young generation at all.

For those of later generations who did not grow up with Queen as an active band, I imagine the manner of Freddie's death might be the defining fact associated with the band.

You guessed right. Sadly.
Almost every boy not fond of rock music, remember Freddie as the gay singer with moustache, who died of AIDS two thousand years ago.
A lot of them, when Queen is played in the radio, say: Change the radio! It's Freddie Mercury!

Wow, indeed.
it depends on the place, i guess. in conservative or traditional places, Queen is not apprecciated. To my friends, FM is that awesome guy who played at Wembley and wrote WATC, so they listen to him every time we won a soccer tournament.
But then, almost all my friends think one of the most important things in life is fuck all the people you want, no matter who they are,
So they are fond of Freddie, even if some of them even don't usually like rock music.

I think all those anti-gay, if you listen to Queen you will catch AIDS, people are closeted and deep down wish they could get some proper fuck just like Freddie did.

What are those kids listening to? All the "radio friendly" music is being done by whores and/or homosexuals today

Why are there so many threads on this site about Freddie's sexuality?
Freddie was a musician and a songwriter. that's all we need to know about any performer or member of a band that we love. Who gives a toss about their sexuality and their private life?
I played Bohemian Rhapsody to my Daughter when she was 7. She thought it was awesome and wanted to read the lyrics. She is 19 now and last year asked me what Freddie died of, she hadn't a clue what caused his death. She was then shocked when she found out he was gay. But had no problem with that. Which is how we are in the UK, sexuality, race, colour, we don't have issues. However I feel it's an issue with many people from over the pond, as that was made evident when Freddie grew his moustache and the IWTBF video. Which everybody, especially in Britain thought that video was hilarious.
Freddie Mercury - Lover of life, singer of songs... I think that is all we should care about and is a great phrase.
And don't forget how much the Mercury Phoenix trust has made people aware and helped so many victims of this dreadful disease.

No, in fact some of them are not aware he died:
I was recently in a situation where I told a 28 year old guy I was going to see Queen with Adam Lambert.
His response?
"Why is Freddie Mercury not singing for them anymore?"
True story.

Wow! - who would want to spend 24 years on Mars ?!

I think to those who grew up after Freddie died, particularly those who got into music in the last five years, they might be aware of Queen as a band, and might be aware that Freddie was the lead singer, but not be completely aware of their history. Silly really, but there you go.

I introduced my 8 Year Old Son to QUEEN who he absolutely loves. He can't get enough of Innuendo (the song) & wants it constantly on repeat. I have told him about Freddie & why he isn't hear any more, for which he doesn't seem bothered at all, loves the music .
He says he thinks he looks the best with a Mowee (moustache)!

You will find the Americans can not handle gay human beings, they are so narrow minded and have a massive problem where a gay man is concened,
My advice to you is take no notice of narrow minded idiots, because it takes a compassionate human being to understand and love a person regardless
of sexuality etc......
Freddie passed away a year before life saving treatment was introduced to save HIV patients, so the likes of Holly Johnson, Andy Bell, etc..... were saved,
Freddie was just unlucky. Love Freddie with all your heart because he was massively talented and no one will ever match the dynamics of king Mercury.
