Which is incorrect. You are simplifying and using an ad hominem to further your own agenda.

Please do enlighten us about traders, and prove me wrong.

If a hundred concert recordings are shared freely on QZ (by somebody other than the original taper, i.e. are pre-2000 recordings), how many of them are shared after their bootleg pressing have been released, and how many are are shared when they still have potential for several trades?

Face. Palm.

Dude, that's the entire point of trading for rarities. Your method completely defeats the purpose, which is precisely why other people engage in this activity instead of you. But I'll hold your hand one last time:

If you have one thing, you hang onto it so you can get a second thing. Eventually you can share the first thing, and the second thing can be used to get a third thing, and so on. But if you post your first thing immediately after acquiring it you're back to square one. Instant gratification now, but you're shooting yourself (and ultimately everyone) in the foot because you used your free spin too soon.

Does this compute whatsoever? Or do you still think you're the expert?

This is the last time I speak to you on this matter. You are extremely selective in what you choose to respond to, almost as if you are looking for a fight instead of some kind of mutual understanding. And considering you said you don't even download things from this forum lushly decorated with old recordings, you take so much time out of your day to interrogate and defame those who have made it that way.

Furthermore - if your reading comprehension was functioning at a basic level, you would've read and acknowledged the part that said the overwhelming majority of unreleased music has been acquired and shared without restriction. If your obsessive focus on rarities and inability to read were conveyed over any other communication medium it would strike most sane people as bizarre, borderline psychotic behaviour on your part.

What a colossal waste of time this has been. The world is not going to somehow be a better place when you suddenly realize how tape trading works. Good day to you.

Years ago, when I was purchasing a bootleg copy of Opera Omnia on four cassettes (remember that magnum opus?), the gentleman who sent it to me emailed me asking if I was interested in paying something like $100-150 for a cassette that included-
-Let Me Out- instrumental Queen version from '78 (so I assumed from the Jazz sessions)
-soundcheck audio of Queen playing Innuendo (not The Show Must Go On) at rehearsals for Ballet for Life (no Elton on vocals, if I recall)
- Cool Cat with Bowie on background vocals (which has since been leaked)
- longer demo version of Brian on vocals on The Hitman (something like four and a half minutes, the notes said)
- something from the Time musical that purported to be rare. Cannot remember if it was In My Defense or Time, the song. (forgive me, it's been almost 17 years)
- State of Shock with Freddie and MJ (since leaked)
- Don't Lose Your Head demo with Joan A. and Roger on vocals. (at the time I hated the song, so I shrugged it off. Now I would love to hear it!)
- demo of Brian singing Talking of Love (at the time I had absolutely no idea what that was. I figured it was a solo song)
- Self Made Man and one other common known demo. Cannot remember if it was Robbery or Self Made Man but, back in 1996/97, it was totally unheard of.
-and a few other things which I sadly don't remember.
Being that I was an extremely poor college student, there was sadly no way I could have purchased a copy of these songs. (I could barely afford the $40 or so for Opera Omnia)
I have no clue if most of the songs/demos he was claiming to have were authentic, but since a few of them have subsequently leaked, I hold out great hope that the rest (especially a Jazz era demo of Let Me Out) are also genuine.

If I were you, I would have asked to my parents if they can give me some money I need, and later with the profit of selling a cassette copy give them the money. But that's me.

Anyway, interesting list of tracks! Do you remember the name of the man? Maybe we know him.

What a fucking treat that would be to hear!

I read not too long ago that apparently Jacky Smith mentioned sometime in the late 90's hearing Roger, Brian and John playing the opening bars of "Innuendo" just as she was leaving from a meeting with them in '97. So it seems to me they must have had something in mind with that song that year.
Whether it was just for jamming, or for something more I guess we'll never know?

Like I've said all along, the traders don't want to SHARE their recordings, they want to trade them. As long as possible.

I've understood that perfectly all along, while you've been trying to spin it around, claiming that the traders have higher moral standards and their wishes of not sharing should be respected because of that.

I hope the people of QueenZone can see through your pathetic lies before this place turns into FanthologyZone.

Congratulations on being right. Painting all of the hundreds of thousands of music collectors in this world with the same brush is exactly the way to maturely and rationally view the situation.

Indeed, this place is becoming Fanthologyzone. Nothing new is being created or shared these days - not a single post in weeks ! All those posts today are spambots on threads that actually aren't new copies of audio and video. It's all our imagination. Only you seem to get it.

The millions of recordings of unreleased music that have circulated for decades are worthless because people didn't release them in a way that you approve of. On behalf of all the myopic music collectors who share one single philosophy on music collecting, we apologize for our lack of oversight. Next time we will only share music while undergoing an emotional experience that passes your personal litmus test.

I guess that's what what you wanted to hear?

Quick, do something about it ! Since you clearly care so much about this issue, this is your big chance - your opportunity in the limelight to make music collecting thrive again ! We all know you can do it.

Because you wouldn't just sit there on your soapbox complaining about something you know nothing about without an actual plan of doing something about it, would you?

Most traders are benevolent and generous people most of the time, except when something "unapproved" gets leaked every two years or so.

It is then when many traders use strong arm tactics to demonize the leaker, discourge the sharing of the leaked material, marginalize the few non-traders that offer their "unsolicited" opinions, as well refrain from additional sharing and blame it on the ignorant non-trading leeches.

Why don't you recognize that Jefffabiano (Mercuryman12) was a simple and plain troll? It's so hard?!

Demonize the troll? OMFG!

Blame it on the IGNORANT non-trading LEECHES?

Leaked?! What's this? QPL or what? C'mon!

...

Imagine that you had recorded the whole Golders Green '73 concert with Queen in a 32mm tape from the audience: would you like to share it freely? Or trade it for more stuff and make a collection, until you want to be free of all that stuff (just like Ghostwithasmile is BACK! is doing) and share it in QZ?

Remember that if you choose the second option, you can't let that stuff to be shared in internet until YOU share it, or you approve other people to share it.

We should just let the kids play in their sandbox.

They've added nothing of value to the dialogue, so why would they start now?
