Hi all,
I've been lurking around QueenZone's forums for a few months and I have to say that I can't understand all the hate for Party. I've always loved Party (and Khashoggi's Ship, I've always considered that both songs are a single number) and I consider it as a highlight for The Miracle album.
Granted, the programmed drums are atrocious -- never understood why Roger barely used real drums in the '80s (and in '91). But apart from that, I reckon it opens The Miracle in a fantastic way, I hear that as a message that the "real Queen" is back (never been a fan of Flash, HS, Works or AKOM). I get a "Jazz" feeling from this/these track(s). Had they continued touring, I would have loved to hear it as a show opener...
Am I the only one? Is Party just a bad track that I happen to love for God knows what reason?

No. I agree with you. Its like "this is our new album and take that BLAST in your ears" !
I don't know, it just sounds obnoxious to me. I like Khashoggi's Ship though.
Some cool singing and guitar playing on it. But Khashoggi's Ship is a lot better IMO.
It`s average... I don`t like it but I don`t really hate it also...that`s it.
'Why all the hate for ''Party"?'
-- didn't know there was.

no one stops my party....
"Party" is pretty lame, to tell you the truth. Not their worst song, but I would still be embarrassed to play it to my friends. Khashoggi's Ship is much better.
I like "Party"...by Boston. The Queen song is unremarkable.
Oops. Apparently deleting all the text of a post does NOT delete the post itself. Oh well, it was worth a shot.
It's a silly track, but still a great track with some very interesting arrangements.
It's completely unlike anything in the Queen catalog. No less bizarre than Get Down Make Love or Mustapha.
I always liked it.

Not a very good song in any way. Not their worst, but possibly not even in their top 120.
Strange open track for a album that the lead single, the first was i want it all, a rocker track
