What a shame on the other hand I hope that since 2001 they've found a way to safely digitize the material and maybe even fix it.

They could hire Chief Mouse to do it.

It's fairly obvious from watching any bootleg videos of this gig that it wasn't filmed on 16mm film. The fact that this 16mm transfer is horrendous in comparison surely backs that up.

QPL are very quick to claim anything of interest is unreleasable. And 9 times out of 10 it's nonsense. They presumable don't want to release Hyde Park as they aren't happy with the performance.

I have no clue WHY Jacky claimed that bullshit but it's still bullshit. The concert was not shot on 16mm film, but on PAL video. Yes, 16mm prints were created - maybe the fan club got one thinking that's the only thing that exists? No clue.
The "pre-concert" footage however looks like 16mm film as it was probably shot by a different team. Also we know that they always had either the masters or a great quality copy because they used the Hyde Park footage basically in every documentary. I would trust them that they didn't have a good version of the AUDIO recording because all pre-2011 sources have the crappy sound mix we all know and hate. However all post-2011 sources indicate a brand new mix has been done

I call BS. If you check out his other youtube videos he is just copying to "16mm" which as far as we know is just a visual effect via video editing software.

^ You're wrong. Tell me which kind of software can do exactly that and I'll give you all my money.

That's very real. He isn't just a collector with some fake videos.
Have you ever seen Don't Stop Me Now at that video quality he presents in his YouTube channel, for example?

I'm not saying it's impossible to do that, but I don't think someone would hurt his reputation for some YouTube views.

Sikke's collection is very much legit. No scamming from his side.

This quite obviously is a genuine 16mm copy from the original footage, made by Queen productions for distribution. SL was copied and sent out to media outlets like BBC & John Kirshner back in '76 & '77, this recording is from what was sent out back then. i have seen better copies of this, although not from a 16mm source.
Arse.

So a 16mm print of 'Sweet lady' from Hyde Park was made for promotional purposes. Interesting choice, because this is not one of the most popular Queen songs.

^ This song is usually quoted as the worst song that came out of ANATO. Intriguing choice.

What's weird about it? They used it for the 1976 Bob Harris interview too, on Old Grey Whistle Test

But it was one of the few songs that was executed well that night.

Since the interview was with Brian, maybe he wanted it to be one of his songs? Or at least, a shorter song, or something that wasn't part of the medley. Or something from their latest album ?

So many possibilities.
