I saw Queen 5 times in concert from 1978-82, The Brian May Band in 1993, QPR in 2006 and QAL in 2014. The QPR show in San Diego, on Apr 1, 2006 was great and I appreciated seeing them live again for the first time in years. Paul sang great - did a tremendous job on the Queen songs he could sing and Brian and Roger did exceedingly well on the Free/Bad Company songs they played. Notice I said that Paul sang great on the Queen songs he could sing because there were many that his type of voice just wouldn't sound right on.
When I saw QAL in Houston in July 2014 I figured that would be the last time I'd have a chance to see Brian and Roger and was thankful they were touring again. The show was good but it was good in spite of A, not because of him. His voice and stage presence/style just do nothing for me. At no time did I think I was seeing a "rock star" and instead felt like I was watching a souped up tribute band.
I've been following Queen since the mid 1970's and have seen a ton of other big time rock bands. I have nothing against AL and wish him nothing but the best but he's not in their league.

My view is AL is no where near where Freddie was. Ive seen Q+AL live and then I look back at the wembley 86 video and Freddie was in a league of his own, he had over 100,000 people eating out of his hands something AL would only ever dream of. Watch the live version of Now im here and that is Freddie at his best the way he covers the whole stage. Ok AL a good singer and does sing Queen songs well even if its more of a musical way rather than a rock way but I was never old enough to see Queen and this is the only chance for me to see Brian and Roger live with a singer who sings Queen Songs. AL is not trying to replicate Freddie and he has as good as said he has massive boots to fill but its bringing the songs of Queen to a new generation and to keep the music alive. I enjoyed the show although I know it wouod have been miles better had Freddie been alive but hes not.

I'm sick of seeing Lambert posts on Queen pages (the Official Queen page springs to mind mostly).
I had nothing against him when he started singing for Queen+ (I saw one of the shows & thought it was alright, but that's about it), and I still haven't got anything against him now, but that doesn't mean I'm a fan of his. Be it right or wrong, for a while I've quite resented seeing so many posts of him on pages about the group I've always loved, not to mention the Glamberts. I have no problem with the guy as such, he comes over like a nice guy, but he's a bit X Factor / Pop Idol style for me - comes over a bit unauthentic.... and it just seems the Queen pages are full of him now (I've come to see the whole Queen+ Lambert project as something quite tacky). I'm considering unfollowing or unliking the pages tonight, which is a shame, as Queen is my favourite group. But like I say, I'm sick of seeing Lambert posts. That's not what I followed the pages for.
Rugby_guy wrote:Call yourself a Queen fan mate, that is a joke.
you're the joke (whether you're in your 40s or 50s)...why the f*ck do you keep banging your playground drum? you come across as (at best) educationally subnormal, with a mental age of six or (at worst) a schizophrenically impaired sociopath with severe learning difficulties.
Rugby_guy wrote:A real Queen fan to which you are not should support our Freddie.
"support our Freddie" ???? have you EVER actually read back what you type? have you any idea how moronic and asinine that statement is?
you denied that this login was YOU Gerry (another one of your lies?)...but with every new post you just prove what we all knew - multi-logins for a muliti-personality derange-being, spouting continual shactoids.
still, if this village has to have an idiot, then at least we ALL know what we're dealing with (with YOU)

You know the best part, though? It aint over!!! Still got the Rio thing, and maybe a S America tour!
"What? Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no! "
Even if I didn't like Adam (which I do), I'd be glad about that, just because I know it'll piss you off....
