One question, why bother in the first place?

I'm not a girl. If I were a girl, I would be more pretty than her (?).

It's easier to wait for the press release than making assumptions, isn't it?[/QUOTE]
Yes it is.....but not NEARLY as much fun!! :-)
(and you're assuming that the press release will be factually correct...something that just doesn't happen in Queen land). eg the recent announcement for the Italian Kiosk releases (which are still being issued up to July 2015) promised that "ALL" Queen albums and live CD and DVD releases are included, but it doesn't include The Rainbow...

As this is a 15 disc set, clearly 'The Cosmos Rocks' doesn't get included as a 'Queen' album in this, (and most other) set; whether rightly or wrongly, that is an argument for elsewhere(!), but what it does say to me is that they should NOT have issued it under the 'Queen' name at all in the first place - if it doesn't count to Queen (Brian and Roger) themselves when putting this set together, then they should have been brave/sensible enough to go the 'Page & Plant' route when recording new material with only half the original band.

Huh-huh! "The Cosmos Rocks" is rightfully a Queen studio l.p. It is their sixteenth one! Outside of that calling it "1973-1995" is fine if that's the route they wish and or choose to take.

The Cosmos Rocks is shit so I for one am happy to see it put aside.

It can't be worse than Flash Gordon, as Flash Gordon is at least 2/3's fluff.
They will rightly replace Flash Gordon with Cosmos Rocks in this 15 album collection.

Flash Gordon was a fantastic album considering it was a film score, I listen to it quite often, possibly in my top 5. Way better than Cosmos Sucks I think, even HS is better. TCR has some nice bits here and there but the whole album is a rock cliché with some woeful lyrics in it.
We got the cosmos rockin to the mighty power of rock n roll? My arse they do. If the lads came out and said they were on meth while they recorded it then I would understand why it is so shite.
I haven't listened to TCR for about 3-4 years, it's too cringe worthy to enjoy it, SINT is maybe it's only saving grace. Paul, Brian & Roger as artists are capable of much more.

They trimmed it down from the original lyric...."Tonight we got the cosmos rockin' tonight to the mighty power of rock 'n' roll and we're gonna rock you (tonight)" :P
(If you turn the volume up to 11, it makes perfect sense)

I hope they do something special, not just stucking all 15 LP's in a box with the crest on it and then sell it for 249 pounds or something. Colored vinyl, picture disc, 2x45RPM 12" discs per album, ...

My only problem with Flash Gordon was the dialogue in the songs. I know why they did it at the time, but the concept didn't aged well. Sometimes you can't appreciate the melodies, or it destroy the mood of the song.
I am into soundtracks and instrumental music, so a remixed FG album without dialogue will be a great thing.

I do not take rock lyrics seriously, so the cliches do not bother me and I find them fun and amusing.
I like all of Roger's songs plus Call Me, but I consider Cosmos Rocks to be vastly inferior to most authentic Queen albums.
In my opinion, Flash Gordon would have been much better as short EP.

What the FG album needs is for them to go back to the masters and create a new mix. It's as dull and flat as dishwater and the bonus tracks added to the 2011 release prove it!

I agree that FG could do with a new mix. The drums are horribly weak - a legacy from Mack's recording techniques that he introduced on 'The Game', where ambient rather than individual close mic'ing was his preference. Hopefully with today's technology these could be 'beefed up'.
