Houston '77 would be great, or something else from A Day at the Races- or News of the World tour.

I am so gutted they didn't carry on with the 5.1 DVD-A or Blu Ray Audio releases after ANATO and The Game; I know they started work on ADATR; I'd so love that, Jazz and The Miracle in full 5.1.

I think we'll get a 30th Anniversary Rio, though they'd better remix the audio and remaster the picture if so. Probably Hammersmith 75 too for the 40th Anniversary, though I'm not fussed about that unless it comes with some great extras.

I don't know why,but I just can't get excited about Hammersmith 75 in the way that I was about Rainbow. Maybe it's the fact that the track list is almost identical to Rainbow other than snippets of Bo Rhap. Ok,we have Brighton Rock but I find the whole concert so underwhelming. Freddie isn't in good form vocally either. Plus we've already seen much of what's there in pretty good quality. No doubt I'll buy it but after a couple of listens it'll probably stay on the shelf amongst my collection.[/QUOTE]

I agree. The gig is short and the setlist isn't good compared to other ANATO tour gigs. No Sweet Lady, no The Prophet's Song, no Doing All Right etc. Ugh.

I long for the day I hear an officially released live version of Doing All Right. Was anything from the ANatO tour multitracked or did they really put all their eggs in two baskets with Hammersmith and Hyde's Park?

Can't see QP missing out on the xmas market. Oct/Nov are their favourite months of the year!

I agree that Hammersmith '75 would be a fairly poor standalone release - short and actually in comparison to other gigs poorly performed due to illness. Chuck it in as a bonus for Hyde Park, badge it up as a special ANATO related release and they've got a winner.

I think there has been rumours about ANATO shows on multitracks. Maybe some of the more informed members of this forum could share their views. If they'll release Earls Court 1977 some day then we'll get Doing All Right.

I agree about Doin Alright. It really does work well live from all the gigs I've heard on bootleg.

It's so sad that they seem to only be interested in releasing shows they have multitrack audio for (so they can therefore can 'fix' bits). Hammersmith 79 for example has a perfectly good sounding stereo audio track in the archive, but QPL have stated before that it "can't" be released as they don't have the mutlitrack audio. Many, many bands have released concerts where they only have a stereo mix from the time (and in a few cases, mono mix), and the releases hasn't suffered - they can easily add linear notes to explain why the audio isn't pristine or in surround etc... and it's 'as was captured at the time'.

yeah if The Doors can release a full uncut reel to reel tape of a show there's no reason why Queen can't clean up a soundboard or two (1977/12/22 please) and put that out.

Queen have always been perfectionists tho, that's probably why only a multi track concert will be released. Mind you,Milton Keynes wasn't multi track was it?

They weren't such sticklers back in the day. They released Rio, Japan 1982 and Japan 1985. None of those gigs are perfect and have mistakes, bad sound, Freddie sounding bad etc.

I note your point Biggus. The sound quality etc was poor, which might be precisely why they want the sound right and in the best quality possible this time under there new record label.
