I note your point Biggus. The sound quality etc was poor, which might be precisely why they want the sound right and in the best quality possible this time under there new record label.
I think the most important thing is that for most Queen "diehards" it probably doesn't matter if the sound isn't perfect and there's mistakes etc. I'd assume that a Queen fan would be happy to see/hear newly released stuff that haven't been fully available before. But then again I guess the band and the record company have to make sure that the material meet the standards of the random Queen consumer as well so they can shift some units.

Just repeating the same old shit but. ... wouldn't it be great if they did an archival selection split into 5 year periods kinda like KISS did with KISSOLOGY?
Tv snippets plus full live concerts, occasional promo appearances (snl, entertainment tonight etc)
71-76, 77-81, 82-89, 91- finish.

It's so sad that they seem to only be interested in releasing shows they have multitrack audio for (so they can therefore can 'fix' bits). Hammersmith 79 for example has a perfectly good sounding stereo audio track in the archive, but QPL have stated before that it "can't" be released as they don't have the mutlitrack audio. Many, many bands have released concerts where they only have a stereo mix from the time (and in a few cases, mono mix), and the releases hasn't suffered - they can easily add linear notes to explain why the audio isn't pristine or in surround etc... and it's 'as was captured at the time'.
They weren't such sticklers back in the day. They released Rio, Japan 1982 and Japan 1985. None of those gigs are perfect and have mistakes, bad sound, Freddie sounding bad etc.
Very true on the Japan/Rio gigs. In fact they rush re-released either Japan 85 or Rio a few years ago to cash in on a successful ad campaign and did nothing to it.
MK bowl was fully remixed from multitrack audio (it was the video that they had no alternate footage to use) - it was staggering that they made the drums sound worse!

The question was if there's any news on Queen releases for 2015, the question WAS NOT about what we would like to see released this year.
There's no press releases, Greg or GT didn't come to Queenzone to hint on next releases. So everything it's just speculation from people replying to this thread.
But one thing that's not speculation is that Queen + Adam Lambert Sydney concert was recorded and Drum Battle is available in Queen Youtube channel for some weeks now.
Also, some weeks or few months after the concert someone in the forum shared a link to a Youtube channel were there was some drone testing footage with the title, i think, "Queen Sydney drone DVD" or something like that, but now i can't find it, even though i thing i've saved it in my browser favorites.
So maybe this is being released this year or the next.

it would be great if they release hammersmith '75 that they add everything they have from japan '75 tour (audio and video) and every tv appearance from '75 if they did any. how many minutes of footage do they actually have of japan '75?

Hmmm, just looked at the set list for The Budakon show in 1975. It includes a little track called Hangman. Now,if they have the multitracks for tyat concert and released that, that might be a priceless release!

You mean the best show Queen ever did? Good question, even more important: They have the multitracks?

I'm afraid I cannot give out details. But if you have been paying attention to details in interviews and leaks and such all year then you basically already know.

Oh boy complete and remastered Tokyo 1979 and Caracas 1981 at last!!

According to the recent QOL podcast interview with Andrew Daw it will most likely be something from the 70s; Nick says on there that 'the 70s era has been well and truly uncorked'
