You gotta laugh.
320kbs mp3 migt have been "high quality" 10 years ago, but not these days!
Shoulda had hi-res downloads available, or are they coming next on BDAudio? I suppose they've gotta have some reason in future for releasing their albums AGAIN....

High Resolution sure. But it's simply the principle of what they said was in the box, in fact wasn't in the box. If anyone can find any link explicitly stating that the US box does NOT include the DLs, I'd be happy to see it.
Anyway, Amazon Canada have just confirmed to me that the US version doesn't include the DL card.
Not happy.
Nothing was mentioned. To the contrary QPL set up the expectation that this was as much part of the box as the LPs themselves.
This is typical QPL. ....and of course no official response or explanation.
If anyone wants to help me others in this situation to get what we paid for, PM me.
I'd be happy to provide proof of purchase.

I also purchased from amazon Canada... no download card - was a bit annoyed at first... thought it was an error since i also got an extra poster in my Made In Heaven LP... two brian + freddie ones...
In all fairness amazon.ca never once mentioned that the downloads were included. In fact, the box itself has no mention of the downloads.
Odds are if you're crazy enough to buy THIS box set - you likely already have the 2011 discs by now. This is not marketed to the casual listener by any means.

In all fairness, Amazon Canada never specifically mentioned the Jazz poster, or the 3 Made In Heaven Posters, or which albums would be gatefolds etc.... Their detail was scant at best.
So logically, for that detail, or indeed any detail for something so expensive, one would turn to official Queen sources, like the link I posted earlier. And it's these sources that specifically, and categorically, mentioned the inclusion of downloads.
There certainly was no differentiation (mentioned then or now) between the US and EU boxes and what you should expect to find in either.
I've been told by Amazon that this only came to their attention after orders were shipped.
I don't have the 2011 remaster CDs. That assumption is both speculative and irrelevant.

good point on amazon's website being extremely vague. also i generally am speculative and irrelevant.
but getting vinyl + lossy sound files is rather contradictory to say the least. Queen really should have offered 24/96 sound files for the price. essentially we would be getting the same exact master + would be able to listen to them in a portable manner as a bonus to purchasing the box set.
in any case, you can always return the product through amazon's easy to return policy.

Surely to get the best out of a 24/96 file, it would require a decent home system, not wearing a pair of headphones whilst wandering round noisy streets, using public transport or driving the car.
That's what the mp3 files are for.
Regardless, they should have still provided hi res files or, at the VERY least, FLAC/Wav files...

Can anyone recommend a decent home Flac / Wav player? I'm kind of sick of having my laptop plugged into my hifi and want to get thinking about a new set up based around a dedicated file player. Got a decent record player and think I want a CD player / radio with a HD that I can fill up and leave well alone for a while.
I think I've given up on a new minidisc player coming out :)

I think if you have already downloaded any mp3 files the return policy no longer applies.
As regards 24/96, remember The Orb?
Even that was only 24/48

we don't have a download card - therefore inapplicable - also odds are the geniuses at amazon wouldn't think of that - too hard for them to trace to that detail

Sonos works well but still doesn't offer 24/96... however, extremely easy to use.
Best way to hear 24/96 or even 24/192... a really good DAC... many available... haven't tried this option... but is the next step for me.

Thanks a million for replying guys. Just as a wrap-up.
If you think there are no correct copies of The Game I will just ask for a refund.
I have not played the albums (or opened the book) as I think that's unfair when I have decided to return it.
Last night I looked at a few Horslips coloured vinyls from the 70s. They are flawless and much better than the new Queen clear vinyls.
I do not accept that The Game is anything other than a mistake. The promo video shows no sign of the mess.
Thanks!
The Voice.

Is Made In Heaven the blue or the yellow sleeve? All pictures of the box show the blue sleeve, but the separate black vinyl release is just the regular 'yellow' sleeve.

I'm still smarting from that book box that had half the audio missing. Now available for about £3 in The Works discount bookshops.
