Why the f*** does everybody have it already? If you do so, can you at least make a review and compare it to the previous versions ? At least the audio ?

EDIT, Oh, now I understand the feline comments.

LOL, two monsters of design work... Art Direction and Design: Matt Read & Greg Brooks

As I remember, about 10 years ago there was info that Richard Gray already created the artwork for release of this show which was shelved at the time. Where is this artwork now?

I'd focus the blame on the "design agency" that is responsible for the horrendous cover: http://marmaladelondon.co.uk/
With a terrible website like that, it doesn't surprise me that they were responsible for the cover artwork.

I came to the future to say this release sounds great, in my opinion. The Xmas version of Liar is superb. Like Rainbow, Budapest and Montreal before, it'll eat the poor sound of Wembley and MK Bowl.

Overall sound is great. Not squeezed dynamics. But they used a lot of delay on vocals. It's not a stadium, it is hall.

I didn't notice any autotune in 'Seven Seas of Rhye'. I did however notice that they patched the vocals in the 1st chorus, but for some odd reason didn't patch the 2nd chorus...

Sound fantastic.
I've got the power to love to live I can't say it ain't right

I agree Seven Seas doesn't sound autotuned - though it sounds like the high notes were spliced in from a much stronger (studio or live) performance, because they sound too strong to be from Hammy.

Freddie did some of that higher phrasing on SSOR from Rainbow '74 as well. Is it know if they were genuine notes from that performance?

Freddie's voice cracked in the first "bring before me what is mine - the seven seas of Rhye" and in the "forever" line.

Also let me add that this bootleg's drum sound is much better.

The ending of Liar ("Liar liar they never let you win") is also nicely fixed.

Yup. They had fixed that one already for the BBC version. Also, on the old version Freddie was shown from the front when he made that fuck up, on the BBC version he was shown from behind in order to hide the fact that the video content wouldn't fit with the overdubbed audio.

After some more comparing with the bootleg, I have come to the conclusion that they have indeed used some melodyne on Freddie in SSOR - they have used the vocals from the original recording, and just raised the sour notes slightly, and fixed a few cracks. The good thing is that they have done this pitch correction in a much more sophisticated way than in the Rainbow release. If a non-hardcore fan listened to this version of SSOR they probably would have been able to tell it had been fixed, as it still sounds rather natural and his vibrato has been left intact.

The good thing about Melodyne and similar software is that you can raise the mean pitch of a note without taking away the slight pitch drift and vibrato that make it sound human. I'm actually glad they fixed the notes in SSOR - they sound painful in the bootleg.
