I have no idea if more footage from May 1st exists from what they've put on this release, but if it does, then it's disappointing they chose NOT to include it all as a bonus disc, especially as this could have been the first official release of "Hangman".
Bonus material from QPL is so minimal it's frustrating.
Perhaps someone from the QPL camp would be kind enough to tell us if there IS any more footage in the archive from this Japanese show or whether THIS really is it. I don't see why there should be any secrecy about it and a bit of transparency every now and again promotes good faith from both sides.
Incidentally, the three songs presented here are already on the Japanese BD of "Days Of Our Lives" released back in 2011, so a lot of people already have this footage and whilst it's "nice" of them to finally share it with the rest of the world, the rest of the Japanese footage (press conference, tea party) on that disc would have been appreciated.

is the japan stuff only on the blu ray, not the DVD?

Fu... this. Another great oportunity misused. Instead of adding the hammy 79' they added practically NOTHING as bonus footage. It is nice we have an official release of this concert, but it was not something us fans hadn't seen in good quality before, since there are countless of bootlegs from the bbc 2009 broadcast that look almost the same as this "new" version. What a pity, I will be getting the cheapest version i think. I hope next year they do surprise us with a nice release like Rainbow in 14'. Hope to have Knebworth or Hyde park up there next year, that would be a very nice release indeed.

In the trailer there's a vocal overdub @ 0:22. Here we go again.
At the end of the day, I'm glad to see more 70s Queen hitting the shops. Years ago we were complaining that it was Wembley, Wembley and Wembley. Let's not lose sight of that.
2016-19 are likely going to have some great releases for Queen fans. But not all of them may be as mind-blowing as Rainbow. Don't set your expectations too high, folks. That way you're never disappointed.
A lot of people are going to dig this, and that's ultimately all that matters.

The blueprint is there, but who knows if they wanted to include these fragmentary bits. Apparently this is all they have.

The release is a little disappointing regarding the content, maybe they simply don't have anything else to offer from '75, except silent Japan footage?
However, if they are willing to release such a short concert as a standalone release, it does give me hope for a release of Hyde Park next year.

The 20 minute interview might have the press conference stuff? Who knows. As it is, all things considered, I do welcome this despite not being on a par with Rainbow '74. I mean, how could it really?
Pricy though.
I think a boycott of it would just make them think it was because Freddie didn't have a 'tache on the cover so might only serve to abort any more 'archival' releases.

Just a few completely random ideas about what COULD be included
- Japan 75 - a new proper HD transfer of the 16mm(?) original, also with the bits which are cut out from this (and the 2011) release
- the FULL soundcheck
- all OGWT / TOTP performances
- a new documentary about the 1975 tours incl. all silent 8mm audience films, and making of ANATO incl. some previously unheard demos/alternate takes/ multitrack bits
- maybe some of the 1977 Bob Harris interviews about their early days / origins
- a book with huge glossy high quality 1975 photographs, properly labelled of course, maybe something with some handwritten ANATO lyrics etc.
- audio CDs with all BBC sessions and the Golders Green Hippodrome gig
- put it inside a box which will look like the old Hammersmith Odeon building...
I don't know, just something more interesting then this. Don't they have any fantasy? Any clue what various collectors might find exciting?

No boycott. I want a good version of Hyde Park :-)

Yeah so we have to support it!
Good points about the other material that could've been included. One hopes that the non-'75 stuff will be held over until a suitable release which I doubt! If this is to serve as the 40th Anniversary of Bo Rhap, I should imagine Brian May will go the whole hog to celebrate the 40th of We Will Rock You in 2017. Would Houston be considered the first performance of WWRY in as much as this is the first of Bo Rhap? Fingers Crossed.

a bit disappointed as you, guys (most specially for that 12" single containing the most interesting piece of music on this set), but hey, crossing fingers for Hyde Park next year and hoping that eventual release will stand proudly next to the excellent Rainbow set.
As for the artwork ...... no words to describe such poor an amateurish design.
where´s a loco Ale Solan when you need it ?

The boxset is of course very expensive. And there's no need for it I think. The Rainbow release is still very fresh. The other releases were enough. But I'm buying it anyway! :P
The cover could be much better, still it's not bad. It's a shame that only Live At The Bowl has the entire band on the cover. Queen are not just Freddie!
I think they could have exploited way better the xmas market, by announcing the release as special xmas tv show and making special xmas covers, kinda like a xmas present or something! With a xmas wrap and ribbon, I don't know!

I don't exactly have money to burn, so I'm definitely not going to waste what I have on this thing. And I'm not going to download it either - I simply don't want this...thing.

I know - but I read through the thread and saw that several other people had covered all the points I had covered, so I thought I'd add something new.
This forum tends to be a crotchety bunch who aren't connected to the bigger picture, so sometimes we need to tip the scale back to reality.
