Very sad. Perhaps the greatest artist that were still alive, and we had to lose him...
Terrible!!!
"Black Tie White Noise" is probably my favorite CD. The title track with Al B. Sure! is a great jam and "Don't Let me Down and Down" shows his range. For some reason, I was actually more impacted by his 90's material than his 70's. "Real Cool World" is one of my favorite songs from his 90's catalog, that tune is "Pop perfection".
I hope he gets the attention that he deserves now - Celebrated as a true genius that is - Nothing less.

Very sad news. He was definitely one of the brightest lights in modern music. I am glad that he managed to keep this private and not be preyed on by the press.

Sad news indeed.
I've always wondered if the cover of Queen's début album was influenced by the artwork of Bowie's (rather awesome) LP, Hunky Dory (1971).

I cannot believe it. Awful, awful news. What a horrible way to kick off the week.
Considering I never met him and I was never a massive fan and I still feel quite bad, I cannot even begin to imagine what his loyal audience and his friends are going through at the moment.

Waking up this morning to this news was just like waking up to the news about Freddie on a monday morning all those years ago.
What a great talent who, even after all these years, could still produce music that was just that bit different to what is current without sounding tired and formulated.
A great loss

Thanks for leaving Blackstar for us before leaving, David.
