Perhaps this can be improved upon, I've been told it's fairly decent quality audio compared with what else is around.
This sample is a raw flac transfer from my VHS recording, but is it worth the effort or even a good idea?
If so I could make the complete audio available to somebody for a project, comments welcome.

QTV broadcast > VHS/VCR Line Out > PC Sound Card Line In > 16 bit 44.1KHz Flac Level 8

I was there.

Thank you for the sample, any improvement to this show is always most welcome!

As part of a remaster if anybody has the complete single camera version (yourself or Sikke maybe?) this could be used to repair the damaged audio (and video) that exists on parts of the common version (assuming that there wasn’t some sort of power fluctuation at the event which caused all the recording equipment to malfunction at the same time) e.g. there is always bad audio fluctuation and video roll at the start of You're My Best Friend on all the common versions that I’ve seen, the single camera version could potentially be used to fix this.

I may be wrong but to my ears Keep Yourself Alive from the single camera version on your YouTube channel sounds to have a lot less “wow & flutter” than the common version, maybe this is the best starting point for an audio remaster if it exists in full – Queenlive.ca indicates that it does?

There was a guy on here that managed to fix a similar sort of tape stretch problem on the Roger Taylor Fun In Space remaster. No idea how he did it, but it proves it can be done.

Is there any more indications on an official release?

I am willing to share. But tell me more about the "damaged audio" what is the part that needs to be repaired ?

Don't know who started this trend of 3rd party remastering before sharing something, but seems like a wrong direction to me.
How about sharing as it is, in the best quality possible (at least 24/96 considering the year is 2016), and let the others to work on it as they please.
You may avoid absurd questions, like "what is the part that needs to be repaired?"

I can only comment on my QTV recording and I'm not sure if a 24/96 transfer is really necessary.

Do you remember which thread it was posted in? I'm very curious about this.

I also agree that not EVERYTHING needs to be cleaned up before sharing, but in the case of my transfer I think it does.
Otherwise there would be little in the way of possibly classifying it as any sort of upgrade.

You Aristide1 may avoid this webboard....

I don;t want to ruin this website with another inferior HP audio upload.

Like I said in my first post, this might not even be a good idea.
Perhaps we just forget about it then as all we have to work with seems rather inferior to start with.

Sorry, my mistake for taking your question literally. Should have been familiar by now with the small talk ritual preceding shares from personal vault.
I guess it would be shocking to suddenly see a link if you are not psychologically trained first: some conversation on deinterlacing algorithms, some pictures of the tape on the kitchen table.

Hi Sikke,

Thank you for your reply, you may have access to a "common version" which does not need repair (as well as having the full single camera version). For the rest of us there is significant picture and audio break up at 20:31:10 during White Queen and at 20:47:00 during The March Of The Black Queen just to give a couple of examples. (The damage that I mentioned in my first post during You're My Best Friend occurs at 20:40:17). Also there is an odd fluttering effect throughout which, as far as I can tell, does not appear to be present on the single camera version.

Thank you for your offer to share.

So we should not expect an official release of HP this year.
Maybe QP will choose a 30th anniversary concert?

Thanks for the info
