A melt down is a reasonable response to right wing extremists taking power in a country.

If Geert Wilders (the Dutch Donald Trump)[/QUOTE]
Until March 15, can we just use the term "Dutch Drumpf" for comedic effect?

If Geert Wilders (the Dutch Donald Trump) wins the election in March I imagine Thomas Quinn will be in full melt down mode!!! (His profile says he is from The Netherlands).
I believe Wilders is ahead in the polls at the moment.

Yeah, no. You clearly don't know how a multi-party parliamentary democracy works - even if he manages to get as many seats in the election as he does in the polls (which he's never done before, and he's been around for 12 years), that would still leave him with only about 20% of the seats in parliament (30 out of 150, his highest number in any of the recent polls).
And since no other party wants to work with him (except maybe the orthodox protestant party, which has all of 3 seats), that's where it ends. Which is exactly what he wants, since over the past decade he's been bending over backwards to avoid having to actually take responsibility.

Apologies for dramatically overstating Geert Wilders' electoral results in my prediction - he managed to get a whopping 20 seats in a 150-seat parliament. Looks like all those 'hidden Wilders-voters' who kept their intended votes secret managed to keep their votes secret from the electoral commission as well.

Thank goodness rationality prevailed, at least in your country.
But methinks the right-leaning populism as a whole isn't going away any time soon.

Doesn't seem to have prevailed in France. We'll see on May 7th during the second round. But it's amazing that the French are close to electing a fascist. Did they already forget when their lovely country was occupied by what was basically the (very) far right? The Free French Forces must be rolling in their graves.

Fascist? why such labels when it's someone you don't agree with? I can see how great Europe has become with the far left mentality.

Far right and far left are both equally awful. Le Pen's party has fascist origins. When her father founded it in the early 1970s, his intentions were to consolidate the various far right parties in France into one. Their main ideology concerned a hatred for non-French migrants, mostly North Africans.
If you look deep enough into Le Pen's party, you'll find people who see Hitler as a hero.

"If you look deep enough into Le Pen's party, you'll find people who see Hitler as a hero. " I didn't know that, if that's true then I agree with you, that is pathetic!

IF that is true? Seriously, why are you giving your opinion if you don't know anything about the subject? The Front National was founded as a refuge for everyone on the far right who was barred from the more decent right-wing parties: former nazi-sympathizers, followers of Petain, reactionaries who supported the '58 coup against the French president (De Gaulle, the man who led the Free French. Guess who were behind the coup?), etc.
There are many parties in Europe that were once refuges for former nazis. There are very few parties like the Front National, though, in that it has a 100% unsavory history with all the worst parts of the far right that nobody else wanted to be associated with brought together in one group.

In The Netherlands, It's been around in its modern form for about 15 years. In various forms, it's been around for as long as politics has - literally, there are forms of it in Roman and Greek classical history.
The good news from my country seems to be that it doesn't seem to have much more growth potential. It's the fear of these populists that tends to make them big - and now that we've been stuck with Wilders for so long, he doesn't impress so many people so much anymore.

YOU say "Fascist? why such labels when it's someone you don't agree with? I can see how great Europe has become with the far left mentality.", then you admit that you don't have a clue.
If you don't know what you're talking about, perhaps you shouldn't make such statements, hmm?
