I watched YouTube and automatically Queen + A.L. came on with We are the Champions. It was weird, especially when he sang You brought me fame and fortune and everything that goes with it, I thank you all. . . . . .
Those are the words of the song, so the choice is sing it, or don't sing it. It became a traditional part of the show years ago. Whether it is sung by Freddie, Lisa Minnelli, any of the actors who played Galileo (in We Will Rock You) any number of singers in Queen tribute bands including QEX, Paul Rodgers or Adam Lambert.
If you think that line is weird sung by one particular singer, what about the others?

This is a song for which only basic ideas exist. It was never revisited, never finished.
I went back to the Montreux Queen Studio Experience last month to update the 8 exhibit cases and thought it might be nice to offer some previously unseen handwritten lyrics. This example never even featured in the Complete Lyrics book we did a few years back, obviously, because it was never released.
There are 4 or 5 new handwritten lyric sheets around the exhibition now, mostly for Hot Space. And a few more at the BME, if you're interested, in Liverpool.

Thanks for the info...So, there is a demo recording of this one lying around somewhere in the vaults?? A full band demo? Or just Freddie playing around with the idea?

Thanks GB, interesting stuff. There's so much we just don't know about. What I wouldn't give to have a day in the vaults......
I'll share this with anyone who cares to read it. When I was 18 I went through a rough patch in my life where I became quite unhappy to the point I didn't want to be here anymore. At that point I was a very passionate Queen fan and there was much talk of unheard material coming out one day. This was pre Made in Heaven. My desire to hear that material is the very thing that kept me going. I made it my reason to be because I wanted to hear it so badly. Nothing at that stage was more important to me. My love for this bands music probably saved my life. That may sound a little melodramatic but it's entirely true.
Fast-forward several years and I'm still waiting, but at least I'm still around to wait. It's probably a good job they didn't release an anthology when I was 18, it may have been the last music I ever heard! Oh to be a teenager again.........
that sounds like my story, 91 to 95 was a rough patch for me as well. Innuendo and then Made In Heaven were albums that I related to at that point in my life. I still remember the excitement when I heard Made In Heaven was being released. Of course I was already a huge fan of the first 8 albums.
