I think to fully appreciate it you have to be a little older than a teenager and maybe have lost a few friends before their time along the way, reflective and beautiful writing, if you think it's boring it's probably escaping you, which is fine, but one day you may realise what was going through his mind at the time, he was clearly very affected by the loss of Bowie, and lets face it 2016 massive loss of artists of his generation. What I love about this is is shows he doesnt have to write in one style to make something that ticks the boxes.
This track shows what his contribution to Queen was, not just Fun it and Sheer Heart Attack he was capable of so much more, maybe more variation then Freddie?
Great post, but let's get back to planet earth here - Mercury wrote Bohemian Rhapsody, Somebody To Love, and Crazy Little Thing Called Love. I think we can count on one hand the number of songwriters of the last century who wrote songs (never mind massive hit songs) this varied.

. . . I get the comparison with Bowie's Black Star, but I also remember what happened three days later. This does not bode well.
Queen played the Isle Of Wight festival last year. Brian was still alive on September 19th. Your point is pointless!
Whenever something worthwhile happens in the world of Queen
and I get tempted to become a regular poster again, someone always steps up to remind me why I really shouldn't. Thank you for that.
Fireplace, I'm sorry I didn't mean to offend you. A dry sense of humour doesn't always translate well in short posts.
As has been pointed out in this thread I don't think there is anything to worry about with Roger's health or at least not in the same way as Bowie. The tour was planned and announced and put on sale and added to during if not before this track/film was produced.
Your comment was as valid as anyone else's on the sudject and I really didn't mean to belittle you or your views.
Point taken and accepted, thanks for clearing that up. I somehow really did miss the humour in your post. Coming straight from a funeral; didn't help either Let's hope the worst Roger is suffering from is still just an uncontrollable desire to work with the likes of Britney Spears.

I really hope this is just "Old and Wise!" Roger, and not "I'm Joining My Friends For The Big Dirt Nap" Roger.

That's what he wants you to think!

Lovely Roger interview about most of the stuff talked about in this thread.
