And I heard they were thinking Of doing NY Freddie tours for a price too?
Is that true?
If so, doesn't that seem a little sketchy/scammy to you??
@FreddieDearie, I can address your above quote because it involved me. It is absolutely FALSE! Lee and Thor are NOT planning to conduct "NY Freddie" tours for a fee - or to make a profit.
The so-called "NY Freddie Tours" (or other similar variations on the name) came about because I had e-mailed Thor back in Jan. or Feb. of 2019, asking him what nightclubs or bars from the '80s that Freddie and his NY Daughters used to frequent remained open in 2019. My friends and I were headed out to NYC for a girls' trip in March to see "Hamilton" and Elton John's farewell tour @ the Garden. I thought maybe we could squeeze in some visits to Freddie's old haunts if we had time. I was also back in NYC for the 2nd time in 2019, as recently as a couple of weeks ago in June for work, where I continued the informal "NY Freddie Tours" on my own, in the after-hours.
Thor was a magnificent source of help. He had recommended sites to visit AND gave me descriptions, addresses, links, directions, even the public transportation schedule! I was overwhelmed and touched. He respects Freddie fans and takes their requests seriously. It took considerable effort and time on HIS part, and he and Lee had looming book deadlines. I truly appreciated it, and he had shared all the above info absolutely GRATIS! BTW, I am NOT an above average donor to the GoFundMe page, either. I donated the same exact amount others donated to get a signed book, no more.
Lastly, Thor is in no orthopedic shape to lead tours. He is a senior citizen who suffers from arthritis and bad knee(s). I am not violating federal HIPAA laws (laws of medical confidentiality in the U.S.). Thor has openly talked about his arthritis and bad knees previously on the threads. A thorough and comprehensive Freddie in NY Tour would involve traversing from NYC's Upper East Side to Midtown to Lower Manhattan's West Village to Jones Beach on Long Island. That involves LOTS of walking and utilizing public transportation.
Yes, I had joked about a West Village pub crawl if the guys have a book-signing in NYC. Please don't confuse that for a paid tour.
Anyway, I felt compelled to set the record straight. Facts don't have feelings.
