"Does it entitle him to belittle other artists?"
If he is asked a question he should answer it honestly, not a lot of people would. If everyone just gave the polite answer the world would be horrifically magnolia. Liam Gallaghers vocal on Slide Away is one of the best vocal performances ever IMHO.

@Your Valentine: What has it to do with it? He's relevant, man. He's releasing new music that is relevant. He's not (unlike many current "artists" who sell a lot of records) controlled by a management. He's the Keith Moon of our days.
That's what rock n roll is about. Not about upper class book worms.
Indeed, he's not a man of the past who damages his legacy by touring with a casting show boy.
@mooghead: Exactly!

At least the "casting show boy" can sing.

Oh so the barrage of bitching(mumbling profanities) about artists for the last 25 years is a good thing?

Liam is one of the few real rock stars left. All the others only say things their PR agent approves. I'm glad there's still someone out there who clearly states what he likes and what not, even if I don't share this particular opinion.
Btw, his latest album is great and sold about 100.000 records in the UK in one week. Neither Queen nor any of the members released anything comparable since 1995.
Surely there is a difference between "stating what he likes" and insulting another artist. What exactly has selling 100 000 albums to do with? Does it entitle him to belittle other artists? Once he is 70, will he have sold over 300 million records, written some of the most iconic songs of all times, have obtained a PHD, written books about various subjects, made a difference for AIDS patients worldwide? Then he can think about what he has achieved in life compared to Brian. Probably he will rather be known for drug abuse, drunken fights, and out-of-court settlements with the victims of his assaults. Really very world class Rock'n Roll.

It is neither a good thing or a bad thing. It's just the way it is.

LMAO.
You're complaining about someone who says what he thinks (which is too rude for you) by implying that he can't sing. Let me guess, that's not rude?

Liam Gallagher looks like the offspring of brother/sister chimpanzees but everyone's entitled to their opinion.
I remember years ago Brian was asked if Noel Gallagher was a good guitarist? His reply was "no but Oasis is very much a band thing."
What he MEANT to say was "no he's a fucking shit guitarist and Oasis are a fucking shit band full of shit-brained cunts and no-talent wankers"
Brian opted for a tactful reply because he has more class and intelligence.

User1: you fall into the trap of thinking record sales mean quality. I've heard the album. It's very very poor.

dysan: You fail to understand my postings. That is very very poor.

What makes Liam a rock star? Silly question, indeed.
Check this video. What you can see is a bunch of professional musicians and one real rock star. Liam Gallagher.

And please read my posting carefully. I wrote it is great AND sold. The connection is important...
"a real rockstar"
That's so childish. What does it mean anyway?

I agree. You can dislike something/someone. But why insult? No reason to do so. Just rude and childish. Nothing to do with being a "rockstar". Whatever that may be.

Noel is much better than Liam anyway. Always been, always will be.

I never understood what people see in this Liam Noel guy. IMHO their solo and Oasis songs are mediocre. To me, they sound like dozens of other similar indie bands that appear each week. BTW, I do like indie rock and indie pop a lot. Anyway, even if I find him hugely irrelevant, everyone is entitled to a polite opinion. No, wait... He was very unpolite, thus, mediocre once again.
