Liam is one of the few real rock stars left. All the others only say things their PR agent approves. I'm glad there's still someone out there who clearly states what he likes and what not, even if I don't share this particular opinion.
Btw, his latest album is great and sold about 100.000 records in the UK in one week. Neither Queen nor any of the members released anything comparable since 1995.
There's no denying his Talent. He is mega Talented. But he is still a rude arrogant prick. I do love his Music, but I certainly do not love his attitude.
Apart from the fact he's a cynical media manipulator who, like Donald Trump knows that controversy sells, what does his statement mean? Brian's guitar sound dwarfs his beloved The Beatles sounds, and there guitars due to technology sound like they were recorded in tin can. If it's a sound thing he can certainly not like it, but Brian's distinctive tone and clarity of tone is almost universally loved by musos. Liam can hate it, but what is he comparing his guitar sound to?
I actually quite like this Prick. He has a lot to say,and I like some of his stuff. He actually said Queen were a good band, and Freddie a great singer and all that.I still reach for my Oasis album when driving or need cheering up.And if we asked 'Is this man a prat?',he would probably thank us,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Interesting that people here find Liam very talented. I saw him on James Corden and he sang out of tune and the song wasn't much to brag about either. I was not impressed.
dysan: You fail to understand my postings. That is very very poor.
And in general, people won’t tend to know if an album is brilliant, indifferent or shit until they’ve bought it, so preorder and first day/week sales until they’ve heard it a bit later via streaming, friends etc is a bit of a red herring really.
Liam being Liam. Quite frankly, that's as much of a compliment I've heard him say about anybody other than The Beatles, Paul Weller or The Verve.
Nothing to see here.
Oasis...who will remember them fifty years from now? A bunch of spoilt brats who re-record the same three songs for each new album, then flesh them out with blatant plagiarism. they managed to put out the fastest-selling album in UK history in '97, only to have their popularity completely collapse right afterwards.
Getting insulted by the Gallaghers is proof that you're doing *something* right. They are musical morons. All they know is how to steal songs. Well, not even that - they get caught every time.
Please indulge me as I quote about Liam's wonderful personality:
In 1998 the Hong Kong-based airline Cathay Pacific banned Gallagher after he abused passengers and crew on a flight between the UK and Australia.
During the band's Australian tour, he made a substantial out-of-court settlement to a British backpacker he allegedly headbutted.
In 2006, it was alleged that Gallagher had a drunken fight with Paul Gascoigne at the Groucho Club which ended with Gallagher setting off a fire extinguisher in Gascoigne's face.
Gallagher has made known his distaste for many non-Brits' tastes and conventions (particularly those of Australians and Americans). On an early US tour, Gallagher regularly made derisive remarks about Americans, as well as his brother Noel, which led to an ultimatum from the guitarist who briefly left the band in 1994.
Utter scum. He'll be like the POS Johnny Rotten, a bitter old useless lout, maybe even as racist as Rotten, if he manages to live long enough.
You forgot the incident at Milan airport (I believe it was) where he was being his usual foul mouthed self talking about various "foreign" passengers. A 50 something year old Italian business man asked him to be quiet. Gallagher told him to stop him if he thought he was hard enough. . . . Turns out he was and he punched him to the ground!
20 years ago, GH asked: "...will we remember U2 in 30 years? [...] I doubt it"
I guess we all know the answer...
The reactions of the users here prove that Liam Gallagher (one of the most successful and talented rock stars of the last 25 years) has done his job well.
Once again.
What a legend.
