lol lets be honest here bands evolve and like I said yes its promoted as Queen+ but as far as the majority are concerned its Queen a real life example is my eldest daughter who was born 3 months after Freddie died is as far as she's concerned going to her first Queen concert on December 9th and her excitement is immeasurable. I was lucky yes very lucky from Stafford to Knebworth i saw Queen 9 times in 8 years and yes nothing will ever come close to those gigs but Brian & Roger have never disappointed me whether with Paul Rodgers or Adam Lambert and with Adam it really is a Queen show I know because I've been there!!!

Day Dope how many times have you seen Queen? just out of interest? [/QUOTE]

I've been honest all along.

I never got to see Queen, unfortunately. I was too young when they did their last tour.

What's with spelling the name like that? That suggests you're taking it somewhat personally because I can't stand Lambert's voice. Which brings me to my next question: Why is it Lambert fans generally can't cope with a difference of opinion?

And no, it's not a Queen show with Adam. It's a Queen+ Lambert show.

As I said in my last post. Queen were Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon.

Queen+ is Roger Taylor, Brian May, and whoever is filling in on bass and as a singer.

I feel your pain...So go and see them now I know you won't be disappointed. I remember my reaction in 2005 when I first saw Queen & PR my text to my mate read --- Just like the old days but nothing like the old days...You should manage your expectations and be grateful for what you have today not what you might have had yesterday a lesson I learned when my Dad sadly passed away.........

Sorry Day Dop I can be an arse at times but I really do enjoy these shows...Yes they take me back to my youth and yes I can share them with my family.........You are a long time dead so they say..........
Shadow boxing with yourself just seems to get you no where!

I can't go see Queen as there's no such thing as Queen anymore.

I also saw Queen+ Lambert in 2012 at Hammersmith, hence I can't tolerate Lambert's voice anymore.

It's a good thing you learned that lesson lesson after your dad passed away, so you place value on what matters to you. I'd already learned that before mine passed away, thankfully.

At no point did I suggest Queen+ shouldn't carry on their activities. It's just not for me, and despite what a lot of Lambert fans seem to think (going on how they often react), there's no reason anyone shouldn't share their opinions on a public performer.

To be Fair, Adam Lambert is a feck of a lot better fronting them now than he was then. Not saying you'd like him now but he has grown with the band over the past few years and he has laid off the vocal gymnastics somewhat. Diva mode is only triggered a couple of times a night.
I was lucky enough to see Queen with Freddie many times and the new shows are nothing like the old ones, a little less rock and a lot more show, but they do feel like Queen, which they never did with Paul Rodgers, at least to me. (And I fecking love Paul Rodgers voice).
You get to see a lot more of Roger than you used to as well which is nice.
Would I prefer a still alive Fred to be singing with them, of course I would, but 70 year old Freddie wouldn't be the same guy we all remember and this forum would be full of people complaining about how he cant hit the notes anymore and he spends way too much time just sitting at the piano. We'd all still love the band though.

PS. Adams WWTLF in Toronto was incredible.
PPS. Frank The Robot and the guitar solo is worth the admission price alone. You can plug your ears when Adam is singing and just watch Brian and Rog but you shouldn't deprive yourself of a really good show.
PPPS - It's really nothing like the Hammersmith shows...
PPPPS - If they put It's Late back in the set, there's no way in hell that those chords wont send shivers down your spine when you hear them, whoever the singer is.

Having said all that - Not sure I want them to do a new album together, but if they do I'll give it a listen. Hopefully it will be Adam singing songs written by Brian and Roger, not his own stuff. He's got a strong voice but he's a shit songwriter and I worry we'll get Hot Space 2. (Though the Guitar version of Lamberts Ghost Town from Rock in Rio was actually pretty good - the original song was not my cup of tea at all, so maybe Queenifying his songs would work somewhat)

I’d like to hear Queen + Jay Z. Has anyone heard him sing Bohemian Rhapsody. I heard Jay Z was Freddie’s favorite rapper star.

Queen + Kid Rock

Now that would be a good one. Or

Queen + Jay Z

Brian May and Roger Taylor want to crossover to the R&B/Soul chart like they did with ABTD.

John Deacon would consider rejoining Queen again if they hired a rapper.

Lambert still sounds much the same to me on new videos. As soon as he hits the high notes, I close the video. What can you do if you can't stand the artists voice? But even aside from that, it's just not a voice I like anyway. Add his tacky image on top of that and it's a giant no no for me.

But yes, it was nice to hear Roger and Brian.

folks ? seriously !
there are two guys of your favourite band... those two who are not only trying to keep the legacy alive by choosing to work with a singer that stands out for his live vocal performances and can improve some vocal lines for the best...
it's rather that those two icons tend to visit the studio again because they have the feeling they can do some kind of work valuable and *different* ...none to speak of... exciting... and have a very try to approach some kind of music THEY chose to be... well... listenable.
do they need to do it ? nope.
do they do it for the money ? most probably not.
so. what's the fuzz about ?
they'll go for a new record. yes ! and ... despite of the brand "queen"... they have a collaboration with a quite talented singer which has proven to do the "old stuff" with dignity.
will it be another "cosmos rocks" ? yes. why not. did anybody notice the wide range of that very album ? it maybe doesn't sound "right" in terms of "queen". but it IS "queen+".
listen to the music instead of prejudgeing some product to be compared with "queen". the music is wonderful!
listen to the music and compate a "queen II" with "hot space" (for example *grrr* ). they tend to develop.
and they STILL develop.
since the late great voice of their group has gone a 25 years ago... they still DO some stuff.
.
and ... people...
i LONG to hear any approach those two musicians will do. nevertheless who will sing. never was a fan of paul's voice. didn't like the 5ive collab... the pepsi-advert was disgusting... lady gaga seemed to be at a karaoke night... WHO CARES ? as long they'll do their kind of stuff ... who are YOU to say ..."nope not fine by me" ?
if queen's music has taught my *anything* then it is to be open for a surprise or two ... and for experiments (that 90% of the time work).
.
i would LOVE to hear ANY output by mr.may and mr.taylor. and it's great to see them in their late 60s/early 70s STILL doing stuff.
and... yes... they hawe milked the cow by doing "greatest hits" tours... who cares... as long as there's the tendency to enjoy something new and unheared... they are more than welcome!.
