Would you folks consider Adam Lambert a "rock star"?

I rather doubt that singing one Christmas song implies that one is losing his religion. Adam seems to be pretty open minded about everything, not sure why this would be different. I bet if he could sing at the Tree lighting or Kennedy Center, he would go for it.

I am one of those who says Merry Christmas to people I never check to ask if it is offensive. If that is where we are at this point in time, something is wrong IMO. Being PC is totally out of control. I could think of many offensive things, but that sure doesn't make the list! YMMV!
This wasn’t really my opinion. I repeated, what I heard Adam say in interviews.
And from all I heard: No, he would not sing a Christmas carol at the Tree lighting or Kennedy Center. He was pretty clear. Unfortunately I can’t find it now.

But I remember, I was actually really surprised by his statements as well. I thought like you. Wishing everyone Merry Christmas was just nice, I thought. Adam opened my eyes: Some don’t like it. He sure can recognize the gesture. He just doesn’t like, that everyone assumes, you’re celebrating it. His family did not. He was raised in his mother’s religion, although they were not strictly practicing it.

I remember a radio interview, where he had to play a game: Continue Christmas carols. I think he was able to continue 1 out of 5. and not even completely correct. They were well known ones. Adam didn’t know them. He said so, but the interviewers just went on.

I understand your wish to hear Adam sing these Songs, as most singers record a Christmas album at least once in their lifetime. But for Adam that would be a huuuuge turnaround. I can actually only see it happen, should he have a partner one day, who celebrates Christmas. He’s not against Christmas, he just made it clear, that he wants people to realize, that it’s not for everyone.

His PR assistant twittered this fall about an upcoming Christmas album of one of her clients, but didn’t mention a name. When fans asked her, if it was Adam, she replied: Adam won’t sing Christmas songs. I guess, he hasn’t changed his opinion yet.
I'm sure he wouldn't do a xmas album he doesn't like doing recorded covers of any songs but he did sing some of o holy night on his snapchat randomly and he also did a bit of it last xmas on the Allan Carr chatty man show so he's not totally against it.
‚Oh Holy Night‘ was/is his grandmother‘s favorite Christmas song. That’s why he knows it and always sings that. That’s the not Jewish part of the family and he said, he likes the song.

I don’t know the future.
I only know, that Adam doesn’t like it, when people wish him a Merry Christmas. Not because they don’t know him, but because he feels like it’s rude to assume, that every human being celebrates it. He plays along, he did so on Allan Carr and wished everyone Happy Hollidays in the end.

I find it a bit rude, when fans can’t accept his view. If anything, he defines himself as Jewish. He said so.

I‘m not religious at all. But I think, fans should take that seriously and not just go on and say: Oh, some day, he will change his view. Would you like that?
Oh come on. What Rockchic posted was hardly offensive or insulting. Even Queen had done Thank God It's Christmas.
Sorry, if it came across as being rude. What I said was what Adam said in an interview a while ago. I see, that Rockchick wasn’t actually offensive.

I tried to show, that these suggestions DO come across as being offensive, when someone has stated, that he isn’t going to sing these songs out of religious reasons, but that’s not taken seriously.

I'm not bothered what religion he is or isn't but I heard him say "I'm not that Jewish" in this Donor's Choose vid when talking about those YouTube vids singing The Prayer etc.

I know. Still, that doesn’t mean, he will go out singing Christian songs.
He stated all the things I wrote. And I think more than once. As I said: It took me by surprise as well.

Unfortunately, I can find it. It might have been from the Christmas season 2015, but I don’t have the time to go through all the interviews he did at that time. It’s just too many.

Woah, was that dull or what. Might as well sit him down with those lack of movements.

Not too much movement for a slow ballad like “Believe.”

This is a show for the upper crust. Members of Congress and the govt were there. They showed Nancy Pelosi for example. It is a hoity toity event not a rock show, so the performers are not going to perform that way. I thought his vocals were stunning. Back to the high tenor which many here were speculating he had lost. He has such a range that he can use many "voices" depending on the venue and the type of song. That is a true singer who is not constrained due to genre. Adam can sing anythings!

Damn it... thought this was the thread about if he's a rock star or not.

Even when singing a ballad?
Come on, sweetcaroline. Look on YouTube for live videos of Freddie singing ballads.

I was responding to Mr Cosmicc’s post, above, where he was dissing Adam for not moving enough!

You took mistercosmic's post as a dis at AL?
Funny thing you called certain other artists dull etc, without ever watching or listening to them much at all.
Thing is, even when people watch something and say things that are less than glowing, you somehow take it as an insult...for AL and yourself. I don't know why you take it so personal.
