Don't feel badly Katydyd,
Until I just read your post, I finally was able to realize that I too, missed the credit that Saint Jiub gave to the actual author by giving us the link at the very top of this copy of the article he was presenting.
I feel quite embarrassed. I was basically fooled because Saint Jiub's writing style is very similar to this author. He always posts a very educated and well thought-out opinion piece. It seemed just like him to create this article.
I stand corrected.
I too am embarrassed ...
I apologize that the Vox article appeared to be my own thoughts. I could have been more explicit in crediting the article.
In hindsight, my ambiguous opening statement could have been more specific:
"This "IS" why the real side of Freddie needs to be truthfully told by Thor and Lee:
The "IS" in my opening statement (shown below) should have read "web article from Vox shows" ... I edited my original post to reflect this.
Also, I would not have re-posted this web article if I had recalled that Thor had posted this article a few weeks ago. In hindsight, I realize that this article looked too familiar.
Hopefully we all can "recover" from this "embarrassment".
Now I am doubly embarrassed. I posted this article and didn't recognize it. Oh senility, thou art cruel indeed!
Thor, just blame it on jet lag. It’s only been a couple of weeks lol
I see snippets of Freddie’s humor in different videos on YouTube and wish I could have been privy to it in person. I love to laugh and probably would have don’t plenty if it with Freddie around. You got a real gift in Freddie!

Thor and Saint Jiub,
You have both given me my chuckle for the day. There is not ONE person reading your exchange who hasn't thought of a time or two (or 10) they have forgotten something. That happens to me ALL the time. We live in an information saturated world and can only remember so much! We are all delightfully human in that respect. Thor...I am quite certain I have re-asked questions I already asked back at the beginning ...but have zero recollection of doing so. To your credit, you patiently answer them like it is the first time...although I'm sure you know it isn't. At this point, with the thread as long as it is, the Freddie info I have gleaned is now basically free-floating my head. I guess that is my way of saying you can expect more repeats from me! :)

Rainbow, how does Ruth Bader Ginsberg's remain sharp? She's got 20 years over me... Well let's all be forgetful together!
Thor, have you already seen the TV-biopic "The Freddie Mercury story-Who wants to live forever" with the brilliant John Blunt as Freddie? It's on YouTube.
Blunt's dramatic facial expressions are the highlights in this documentary. Especially when John Murphy is visiting him or when he hears that Rock Hudson is dying.

Mr. Micheal,
Can you give me the link. By the way, John Murphy was no longer in touch with Freddie after 1984. Thank you.

Thor,

Brillant? The acting was cringeworthy,
Oh Dear,
I am sorry Mr. Micheal but this film is featuring Lesley Ann Jones, Peter Straker, Babara Valentine. In my opinion it, like
Bohemian Rhapsody, distorts the truth by some of the "experts." Ths film should have been made with Peter Freestone
providing the real facts.the truth
This portrayal once again slams the gay population, and even suggests that he had actual sexual activity with Barbara,
which has been debunked time and time again.Peter Straker actually wanted to share the spotlight with Freddie, a star
in his own mind.

please change some of the "experts" to some of these "experts"
change Peter Freestone providing the real facts, in other words, the truth.

Runner: It's not brilliant, it's bloody brilliant. Just check out the scene where John Murphy is telling him: "I got months, weeks even" and Freddie looks at him. It's around 54.45-54.50. And soon after he's at the doctor's office getting the terrible news: "How long have I got, doctor". Again, the way he looks at the doctor is very convincing. The same with the way he speaks. You have to remember this is some Aussie bloke, who just happens to sing in a tribute band, he's no actor.
Thor, in these documentaries they always have the same faces telling things the way they want to tell them. Even Freestone keeps telling the same stories over and over again. I really watched it for the story itself. It's really not all that bad, you just have to ignore the fact that they have Freddie wearing his Live Aid jeans for months and months.
In the movie Bohemian Rhapsody, I also thought the scene at the doctor's office was very well done. The deedoo-part with the patient in the waiting room was just plain stupid, but otherwise it was very good.

Please, please Mr. Micheal make this change in your mind and in your analysis. John Murphy was one of my close group of friends who became one of the so-called,
N.Y. Daughters. He never had sex with Freddie. I did (two nights in August 1980).
He was just a close friend of Freddie's in New York as were Lee, Joe Scardilli, and after August 1980, me. I find this offensive because John Murphy was a dear friend
of mine and I KNOW the truth in this matter. Could there have been another John Murphy in Freddie's life? I doubt it. John Murphy was named "Dehlia" because a British
actress or singer named, "Dehlia Murphy" at the same time that Freddie named Lee, "Kathleen" (for Kathleen Nolan), and me, P.P. because of a British singer named
P.P. Arnold. I am sure I would have known if Freddie knew another John Murphy somewhere.
