I didn't know about him being called Deliah by Freddie. That's a new fact for me, thanks Thor. From what I could tell, the John Blunt thing (which was so unsupported by the band that they tried to get it stopped legally, according to Brian) was just a TV version of the Somebody To Love book. Which also pushes Lesley's fake claims about Barbara and talks about John Murphy possibly being responsible for exposing Freddie to the virus. I didn't read the book or the watch the full docudrama but seeing as the band refused to give licensing to allow them to use real clips of Freddie, and Peter told a friend of mine that he avoided it like the plague once he saw the script- I didn't feel right watching the whole thing. There's enough misinformation about him out there and although I understand some people just watched it just to see it and know better than to believe it, the inaccuracies stretched far beyond just a clothing mistake. When a doco-anything starts to get facts about sexual orientation, partners and life story wrong? It's usually time to change the channel. Friend and roadie Chris Taylor went on a few rants about it and was pretty good at clearing up the inaccuracies on his social media. The thing got so much hate, Blunt told fans at the July convention that he signed the contract to do the thing before reading the script. Some were even shocked Jacky still booked him for the gig and she said Brian didn't know about it.
I doubt Brian pays much attention to what goes on at Queen conventions these days.

Thanks for the message, Thor. Sorry if you get my response twice, but the site was lagging yet again.
I am so glad when I started delving deeper into Freddie Mercury’s life, I somehow came across Mercury and Me first and through that learned more about Phoebe and Joe and then the NY daughters. I wonder if I had started with any Lesley Ann Jones books what I would have thought about them. Thanks Villiers for not letting me make that mistake! This is why this book is so important, people need to know the truth from reliable sources. I can’t believe that someone would put a story out about something significant that John Murphy went through when he’s not around to tell his side of the story. Thor, you’re a good man for giving him a voice now! I mean, shoot, as bed a Paul Prenter was at least what he sold was mostly the truth, just in bad taste.
Hey, I hope I didn't embarrass anyone on the page before when I asked about the article that had been posted. It was just that I was perplexed as I was reading it because I was having one of those deja vu moments. I often see articles; videos or pictures that I want to refer to later, but have no idea where I saw them. I can spend way too much time trying to locate things I want to share with no idea where to begin to look. In my personal life I read constantly, probably a book a week. It's so annoying to me when I start a new book and realize about a chapter in that I've already read the book. So I was having one of those brow wrinkling moments, and posted without thinking. Another problem I have far too often. No offense meant to anyone!
Thor, Lee, and Anniebee - I am so happy you liked the clips of Freddie and Phoebe!! I just came upon it the other day watching Queen videos
Lee I can't wait to hear what your surprise is....
Lee do you prefer to be called Lee or Kathleen?
I have a question for you guys if you have time. Any idea why Freddie liked to perform barefoot so much?

Hi Folks
First off thank you for all who commented on my Freddie doll.
Secondly, I agree about the docu-drama "Who Wants To Live Forever" it did perpetuate many inaccurate myths about Freddie. They seemed to draw mostly from the Lesley AnJines book and Mark Langthorne , Matt Richards book.
The Matt Richards book even suggests, erroneously that John Murphy was likely the person who passed the HIV virus on to Freddie (and that John likely contracted it from the Gatan Dugas- so called "Patient Zero" or more accurately Patient "o" - the letter "o" as he'd been labelled). I knew from dear Phoebe that John had not been Freddie's lover., So to suggest that John passed the virus into Freddie was borderline libelous!
And anyway, who can blame anybody at that time for passing it on to somebody else? There was so little correct information about this disease which was only just emerging into public consciousness, and indeed becoming the epidemic that it did, that very few people who were unknowingly carrying the virus could not be blamed for being a vector for the virus.
I also have issues with Jim Hutton's book. I do believe that Jim himself meant well, and didn't intend to mis-lead or focus of the more intimate side of his relationship with Freddie or details of his illness and death, but I feel that in his naivete he was lead astray by Tim Wapshott his co-author (ghost-writwr?) who is a journalist and knew that more explicit, salacious details would sell more copies.
Other than Peter's lovely books, I have taken all the biographies I have read with a hefty pinch of salt!
The Somebody To Love book is actually a good read for learning about the evolution of HIV-AIDS and was quite an education in that respect, but not so good to learn accurate information about Freddie. The authors seem to have lifted most personal information straight from Lesley Ann Jones's book, and taken it that this was all gospel truth.
That's my take on things , anyway for what it's worth.
Have a great Sunday folks.
Kind Regards
FreddieDarling

More blinking typos! Should have read "from Gaetan Dugas-" NOT the Gatan Dugas- which actually upon first typing became Tartan Dutas whatever that is! I wish Google would stop trying to do my thinking for me! Sorry folks!
