The Game was Queen's Greatest 80s Album?

Skyetv Of course you can like other artists and we all do but you must have one fav band that is head and shoulders above the rest and mine is Queen.
Queen with Freddie Mercury is an unbeatable tour de force.
I say what i think and believe me i can handle myself on here with all the silly people who have no respect for Freddie and Queen they would rather give the respect to the Queen + crap which is utter dross.

Your comments suggest otherwise. You tell people they're not real queen fans if they like other stuff. It's not celebrity death match, or survival of the fittest. My favourite band is Queen, but not all of their output is better than everyone else's. If you put all of Queens songs up against the vast ocean of other songs, you'll find that many Queen songs are trumped. But as a package, nothing beats Queen. So if someone prefers another artists song over, say "don't try suicide" you can't just say they're not a queen fan. That's moronic.

That's his opinion, you can be a fan of a band and be a fan of other bands too. Queen don't have to be his favourite for him to be a Queen fan. You don't have to pick a band and that's that, you can be a fan of as many artists as you like, it's not a competition where winner takes all. What don't you get about this?

For example, I love the Beatles, but Queen are my favourites. Does this mean I'm not really a Beatles fan? Only in your world would that be a real argument, it's just preposterous.

It depends how much you love the group. For someone to use a site like vocal harmony and then say "oh there is better bands than Queen " is just ridiculous.
Why bother been on Queenzone if he thinks other bands are better?

Because Queen don't have to be your favourite band for you to be a fan of them, or for you to want to discuss them, or for you to want to collect their stuff. Again, what is it you're missing here?

One would have thought if you get the need to collect stuff on a certain band then you are a fan lol

I am a queen fanatic to say the very least... Hell John Deacon is my fav member to the point where i juge another band on the scale of how does the bassist compare to Johns... which says alot!!!! it's my default band I go to if I want to hear almost every genre from one group.
BUT....
Through Queen, it's helped me to appreciate all the other great bands out there to the point where... YIP...... I'm a fan almost fanatic of Metallica, Megadeth, Floyd, Led Zep, AC/DC, Maiden... even soloist such as Stevie Vai Jason Becker and Marty Friedman (outside of Megadeath)
When I listen to... especially younger bands I hear the 'QUEEN influence they mention...
When I listen to Metallica I hear Queen hell .. not only did Metallica cover stone cold crazy they even stole/borrowed the rift from Great King Rat and used it for one of their first songs they ever wrote .. Hit the Lights or is it The four Horsemen ...

Iron Maiden, I can clearly hear the supposedly John Deacon inspired bass runs from Steve Harris all over their songs....
Queen is my band but all of these other bands are just as good

Happystar, you still don't get it. I collect Beatles stuff, but Queen are my favourite. You can be a fan of someone but still like someone else better.

I'm wriggling out of nothing. I, and another member turned your argument around. YOU stated that because The Game sold so well it was an indication of how good Queen were. THAT IS WHAT YOU SAID.

On that basis it was pointed out to you that two (lesser musical acts) were obviously better than Queen because they had sold more than that album. I agreed with the first coment and went on to say, BASED ON YOUR ARGUMENT there were many others who were better than Queen.

I also pointed out to you, in my post, that you seemed to lack the ability to talk about musical content verses other artists when
discussing this album, basing your reasoning on sales.

I did not say in any part of my post that I believe Queen to be inferior to anyone else. YOU CHOSE TO TAKE MY COMMENT OUT OF CONTEXT AND POST SOMETHING WHICH CLAIMED I SAID SOMETHING I DID'NT.
