- Mary Austin did not allow filming in Garden Lodge (surprise, surprise...)
- It will mention his Zanzibar days
Once again, it looks like they messed up the chronology even more (Freddie moved in to GL after Live Aid, right? Or am I wrong?). The only comforting thing I heard was that Singer did actually have a go at Freestone once for telling him the same whitewashed shit over and over again. A glimpse of hope... Imagine if Peter directed it... Would be like watching National Geographic.
I was shocked to discover Brad Pitt cast as Paul Gambaccini.

Mary Austin ! Well there is one bitter lemon who is spiteful and lets be frank here, she would be in a council house if it was not for Freddie's kind heart and generosity.

Mary has probably been harassed over and over again for the last 27 years by anyone and everyone. If Deaky can stay away, I guess Mary can as well. Plus if a film crew was allowed there, they would want to change shit around so would you want someone messing up your house for a movie?

You don't know her so your not qualified to make that judgement.
Would you want a full on film crew in your home, with all the equipment trucks, catering trailer, mobile dressing rooms etc parked outside, plus as has been pointed out, all the upheaval of having things moved and your house generally invaded.

If people has the right to give their opinion only about people they know, then topics for talk, including forum topics, will be run out quickly.
None of us for obvious reasons couldn't have known, for example, Leonardo da Vinci but why I wouldn't have some opinion about him?
I don't know why some people are so sensitive with opinions about Mary. Why would everyone must to have a good opinion about her?

But what is his opinion based on? Mary didn't want filming - how does that make her bitter? And what if she had have ended up in a council house? What the feck has that got to do with anyone?
Plus...no-one said he couldn't make the judgement. The question was whether or not he was qualified to do so. He doesn't know Mary, so he shouldn't assume that he does (to borrow words from his own mouth!).
I'm pretty sure she owned a house before being given garden lodge, she was in her 40's with her own life, job and family when that happened, there's a big gap between living in Mercury's London flat with him in the 70's and getting garden lodge.
