Hey, if you ever want proof of SweetCaroline aka CNB drinking the kool-aid, read the thread about Global Citizen on QOL. She defended Q+AL even before she knew what was wrong. Even earlier today she was "confused" about it. She can't admit to anything being less than perfect.

He wasn't dropped from RCA he left, he's said it openly in plenty of interviews, don't you think he'd keep quiet and not say that if it wasn't true, would be very easy for someone from RCA to dispute it and make him look an idiot. He left because they gave him an ultimatum 80's new wave cover album or nothing, they weren't prepared to support original music and he wasn't prepared to do a covers album so no option but to part ways and he was picked up by Warner the day after the split was announced.

No idea if he left or was pushed from Warner since he's not gone into detail and probably won't while he's out promoting his music, likely will at some point, but the fact he announced late in 2017 that the album was more or less finished and being got ready for release and then suddenly was back in the studio and seemed to start again or at least tinker and change some stuff and it took another two years to release it plus he's said all the business BS took way longer than he thought it would suggests either he or they weren't happy with what he'd done originally and either he refused to change things to suit them or he decided to go his own way.

Your theory makes no sense since his last album release was 2015 and he didn't leave Warner until 2018, if they were unhappy with the sales from that album they'd have dropped him then not waited until he'd more or less finished recording the next album nearly three years later. They toned him down on that last album presumably trying to make him more acceptable to a wider audience and I get the feeling he'd had enough of trying to please labels who thought he should act and look a certain way or even sing a certain way and decided he wanted to be his own boss so to speak.
