It wasn’t filmed during the tour. They filmed it right before the first show of the ANATO tour.

Hey ok i got it wrong but Queen were incredibly busy in 1975 and the limited time that they had with sound checks etc.... they still made a promotional video for "Bohemian Rhapsody" so no matter what they were doing at that given time they were still very busy.
So with that in essence there is really no excuse why they neglected "Thank God Its Christmas" unless they were not entirely serious about the song?

If they weren't commited to making the song in the first place then surely they would've delayed the release until the year after. But they deliberately made the song, so not making a video - even just a basic performance video - just maked the song seem pointless.

The video for AOBTD took half an hour to make during a rehearsal for a show in America 1980. And seeing Queen were in similar circumstances during The Works Tour in 1984 there is no excuse really to why they couldn't've have filmed a video.

The video for AOBTD will have undoubtedly help the song become a MASSIVE single.

no. TGIC would've required a video shoot after a tour finished. no chance. they needed a break. and - more importantly, there was no real band conviction for the song itself...so = no video.

Just them hanging out in and around some shed in Switzerland decorating trees, rolling around in the snow, throwing snowballs and having Christmas dinner, staring at eachother...wait that's the plot for the Wham! video.
They could totally animate that though.

Or go the other way a la Two Tribes video. XD A brawl between the four of them in drag with TGIC track underneath it...a missed opportunity.

Or Freddie surrounded by thousands of bottles of champagne and muscly men in santa outfits he would have loved that !
