Listen to how long Fred holds the last note in the line "As it Began" from White Queen. Just a bit of vocal talent there!
Great fun version of 39.
Somebody to Love is magnificent.
You Take My Breath Away is just beautiful. Reminds me again how much I love Fred.

Freddie Mercury this strong during the Races tour and just when Millard's machine was rolling...
We're very lucky!
I really enjoy every single second of this recording and show.
And gems like this still popping up after all those years makes me hopeful there's more such great sounding stuff to come.

I have now had a chance to listen to several of he songs here, I must say I'm surprised by the sheer lack of comment. I'm very grateful for this recording being shared here, as a long time Queen fan I'm surprised people are not enthusing about this, is this possibly one of the best recordings of Queen live in the 70's?
Hate to moan but I thought more people would have something to say, I'm just grateful to have an opportunity to listen to this.
So which date does the film come from if this is from the third and the previous source is from the second?

The film doesn't match the audio that we now know is March 2 (the last "battle" of Ogre Battle was always the giveaway), so it must be the 3rd.

Chinwonder did a quick sync of the new Millard recording with the 8mm and some stuff still doesn't match up properly. For example, the final "you can come along, you can come along, come to ogre battle." has Freddie pulling away from the mic on the footage far before his sustain on the note ends on the audio.
Take a look for yourself here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBcywh_8ldY
There were a couple more inconsistencies that I came across on my first view of it, but maybe you'd have a better look at it.

It sounds like he's pulled the mic away from his mouth, as he's much more faint.
Mercury's banter at 3:30 matches the audio perfectly. Without a doubt the film is from 3-3-77.
Great job with the sync, Chin ! I started this one nearly 20 years ago with the wrong shows, so it's nice to see it put together properly for the first time.

Truly is an awesome share has to be one of the best quality Queen shows.
It is just as spectacular as the Queen tape.

Ah many thanks. Though I don't have a login for that place. Thats the show I have. Not my favourite tour TBH, but worth an upgrade just because. Will look out for it.

Funny that it's 4478 and the Queen one is 3377 :D

Thanks, I've sent you an email there, whenever you get the chance to read it :)

I wouldn't say without a doubt.
What about 0:33 and 1:55, where some of the Ogre Battle bits just don't fit?
White Man starts of good, but then the chours goes a tiny bit out of sync, and 5:56 does not fit ("every single bone", or whatever he says).
7:00 he moves the mic too early, and what about 7:36, he does look like he sang the "but still I fear" part in the video. Of course, could be a faulty mic connection, but it sounds more like he was "late in". I don't buy the 10:00 either...
The banter also matches nicely in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yOlccueYeVI&t=273s even though the tape is a bit fast/high, I think.
The Ogre battle also looks ok here, but the final "battle" still looks a bit strange (I just don't buy the "ooooh"). White man seems ok though.
Hope you don't mind me over-analysing, I do appreciate the sync efforts and everything else on this forum. I'm a musician and have done a lot of video production work, so hope I can be of some help.
Looking over this chin-sync a few times, I would say it's not the 3rd.
Thoughts?

All the 8mm transfers I have suffer from fast and slow speed fluctuations.
My PAL transfer that you are using was 11:41, so yet another speed adjustment / re-encode has been introduced.

Exactly - this stuff is all analog. Unless both audio and video are running at the exact same speed (especially the longer clips), they will go out of sync.
