I will think about going to Queenchat because it
will be moderated and hopefully no trolls there so we can finally talk about what really matters to us. My God Freddie would be so pissed to see that but I assume he would not miss a single second of his time dealing with crazy people. And we shouldn't either. I am grateful QZ led me to meet such wonderful ladies, the most beautiful souls in the world. You are a gift and I know , I DO know that I'm so lucky to have you.
And as Freddie would say " no fucker in the universe is gonna upset it". Well said Freddie. QZ is (almost) dead, long live Queenchat.

Petal...If I ever make it over to England, that is one of the places I most want to visit. The Freddie Memorial Garden looks lovely...great idea to plant the 45 bulbs. I look forward to the pictures of the daffodils in full, glorious bloom next spring! The repainted star looks nice as well. If I lived near there, I would be most happy to volunteer my time to maintain the garden area. I donated some money to their GFM account, so I am excited to see what they have accomplished and to know, in a very small way, that I was able to help.

I’m not afraid to name you Brenski, I was just trying to spare more ugliness by calling you (or anyone) out by name, and drawing you into this thread. I don’t mind that you started your own group, or even that you have your own controls on what is said. I think it’s great that you took the initiative, that you put in the work, and honestly I am sure that limiting the “hot topics” like politics and religion makes for a much easier place to manage and discuss things. I have no problem with that at all, it makes sense. If I were just going to randomly be posting on Queen topics, I wouldn’t mind and would probably join in. But since I post fairly regularly in this thread, and about non-Queen topics, and some personal things, I just don’t want to have to think about not posting something that may display my faith. I don’t think in that respect I want to be limited.
I didn’t say that my presence would be rewarding the new site, but the added activity of moving our discussion there is a reward. Moving our discussion to Queenchat is bringing additional business there, adding to the success of your forum. The busier it is, the better it looks for the owners/originators. Which is a reward, in essence. Obviously, my presence alone doesn’t mean squat in the scheme of things.
I do feel that your hunting and squabbling with Jerry and his or her personalities was a major downfall of this site. To be fair, there were several others involved as well, but in my opinion, you are respected here and had you been able just to not react and post at everything he/she said, the situation would likely have gone away. In fact, if everyone had just kept to talking about Queen and stopped with the insults and foul language none of this would have happened. But that’s just my opinion, so I suppose it doesn’t mean much. I do respect you though Brenski, as your insight and knowledge on Queen topics is really vast, and on Queen subjects I’ve always enjoyed your input. You have made some jokes and memes that were great too! So I also wish you well on your forum, and I’m not saying I won’t ever pop in for a Queen comment now or then, if allowed. I can follow the rules and respect them, and the site.

Good grief to the last 3 pages...BUT! Not shocked. I’ve been busy helping friends in lake Charles, as well as an increase of work.

I hate that this place is being disbanded because the camaraderie here and shared love of Freddie actually has helped me unwind in stressful times. So....with that said, PM me on what to do and where to go-if we continue, or write it publicly here. But a PM is better because it alerts me on my email account, whereas I am not checking here often as of late like I used to. I’d like to stay on because I enjoy everyone, the book and photo discussions, and talks of breakthru, and the 2021 montreux birthday celebration.

yes, I did row with Gerry - but always on points of accuracy - or his offensive racist/anti-trans/homphobic/violent threats. when i returned in November (after 3 yrs out), i noticed the place was much the same. Gerry, Jupiter and Runner were doing 50% of the forum killing (bots doing the rest). In January, I decided to try again with gerry (i did try several times back in 2014, 15, 16...and, I reached out to him 3 times between January and April (via PM) and each time he held back on the abuse for a few days, then erupted. For my sins, I cannot identify with my Catholic upbringing, and these days refuse to "turn the other cheek" - when racist abuse is hurled at me. so yes, I am at fault for engaging, but I really did try with him.
MHZ we'd love to see you there. genuinely. give it a go - i'm sure you'll find it refreshing.

finally, as discussed with Katy, on our forum you can create your own personal PM Group - somewhere to discuss anything personal. these really are private messages - Admin/mods cannot see these.
Rainbow the ladies involved with the Feltham memorial are lovely and are working hard to make it a nice place to visit. The sad thing is that the only person who wants to be involved is Freddie's sister. They have tried other people in Freddie's circle with no luck. It's a shame. I was due to visit this year but the virus put an end to it so maybe next year.

He doesn't seem to be the type to want to reach a resolution so I feel queenchat is probably best without him. I also feel discussing religion doesn't seem to end well with it being such a contentious topic with far reaching beliefs.

Pedal, People have a right to their religious foundations and a right to discuss them anywhere. Just like those they have the right to discuss sexual orientation. We have a freedom of speech in the US. MHZ you may have found a place that well suits you I don’t hold with all your religious beliefs but I was raised with them. I think you should consider Brenski's offer as it seems without any malice, fresh start maybe :) Of course you have to do what you are happy with and what you want out of a conversation. I have been a lurker on queenchat for a while and have found some really good information although I am sure there is plenty on queenonline too. I do look at that site from time to time. .
