I don’t post often, very rarely actually, but I read topics constantly, and the reason why I don’t post it’s cause it’s really discouraging, and annoying. The “troll/per legit poster ratio” of posts is astonishing nowadays, and most topics end up in a big sequence of personal attack’s, etc, drifting away from the actual original subject.
It’s too bad it became this. I believe that if the place had a bit more sanity and respect, even though the number of overall posts might diminish, the quality of the discussion and content would end up much better.
Best regards.

Totally agree
Yes, yes and yes, this place is pretty unuseable at the moment unless you're into endless rounds of personal tit for tat, a new forum would definitely be a good idea if moderated properly.

1) YES because there isn't a proprer admin/moderation, this is the real key for this forum. With a good moderation section this forum has a great potential. I was admin in a rockprog forum founded by me and other friends and it was a good experience (sometimes a nightmare but it's part of the game).
This forum needs:
A moderation team
A good but light technical restyling
Look at the Genesis Movement or Pink Floyd Yeeshkul, two long dated forum but in good shape, why? Simple: a good moderation team who manage the forum and the technical part of it. Obviously a forum is like a second work, it needs money (the host platforms aren't free ) but could be a great experience... With my forum i met a lot of musicians like Steve Hackett...
2) YES only if this forum really dying, before that i stay here
3) YES
My question is: WHO MANAGE THIS FORUM?
PS: My forum doesn't exist now just because it became too big to manage it ;)

This forum is owned by Richard Orchard.
In answer to Brenski's questions, all of them are a yes from me. I've moderated forums before and would be happy to do so again.

1) yes
2) kind of - I'm not a fan of banning, I prefer an "ignore" or "mute" function, banning can be extremely easily misused
3) probably yes

@stevelondon20 thanks mate!
@pittrek i'm agreed with your 2nd point but sometimes the situation needs strong measures, obviously this is only my point of view.
Anyway... lost this forum could be a shame because there are a lot of great people who contribute for years with passion and lost their works it's very awful... then move everything on another board could be a huge work.

Yes, yes and yes.
I'm still as big a Queen fan as before but the lack of respectful communication on this forum has totally diminished my desire to participate.
Truly sad.

yes to all your questions.

1. Obviously
2. Defintely
3. Well a new and improved forum will induce a healthy contribution. I can try
I often compared this forum to an old, dilapidated, yet still functioning office building. Much of its facilities are shit, yet it's still standing somehow. This building doesn't just need a renovation, it's a full on demolition job to make room for a newer, improved place.

I'm pretty sure all those can be archived. I've been on a forum that had a major revamp back in 2018, and it still kept it's user database, all the posts etc. so it's possible.

Without solid moderation this place has turned into a pre-school. It is pointless to start conversations because within 5 posts the usual children will be at it again regarding the same old tiresome subjects. So from me it would a big yes to all 3!

How ironic is this thread! The forum has gone to shit - because of the constant arguing from forum regulars like yourself and The Real Wizard. You both feel you have to respond to EVERYTHING - look at your post counts!! Mental. If you believe someone is a troll, don't engage with them - simple as that.
