personally, i'd prefer stuff could be discussed without those people trolling everything. but, if you're happy with it, i won't criticise you for that.

I don’t think this place has died, but the troll stuff has become very tiresome. I don’t think we’d need a new site if the more “rational” poster(s) did not engage and respond to the trolls. Just because someone’s name has been mentioned or one of their posts has been criticized, whether they use profanity or call someone a name...there is simply no reason to respond! Walk away, put your fingers away, close your browser...whatever you must do. Quite honestly, that would solve the entire problem. And it irks the trolls worse than anything when they get NO response! So it’s a win-win for us all.

Everyone of you has right, troll must be ignored but it's not only about troll... there's a lot of fake-member who posting every kind of spam so a moderator team is necessary.
A moderator not only ban a troll but correct mistakes, edit section etc... there's a lot of work behind a forum.
A forum without span and troll can attract new members and, potentially, new material. So, please, stop to criticize everything, instead try to help.
Let's try to save this forum TOGETHER, if it's possible, everyone of us can help with this.
Create a new forum could be a good idea, then collaborate with it to share our experience :)

I could set up a new phpBB board in ten minutes which would be easy to manage. The problem is we would lose everything here. Maybe there is a way to convert the database so we could keep the old stuff but such a task is above my knowledge level. So just getting a new board wouldn't be real fix.

There are people here that know so much that I would really love to keep reading their stuff. But there are also mountains of shit on almost every single post.

^ Bang on Olig. If info is backed up, it would need to be in the same format as what the new forum works with.

I've setup a new board yesterday - as a test, and it's ready to go.
and yes - we'd lose a lot of "stuff" - but i'm sure a new broom might be a good thing.

for it to work, you need the main contributors to be on board. i`m not much of a contributor but i`ve been around since this thing started up.

I've been a member here since day one. 1995 was when this site originally started as "Richard's Queen Page". Will miss the place, but a change is most definitely needed.

i found about this place on alt.binaries.queen or whatever it was. don`t remember when i joined. probably not 95. dont think i had internet yet! but probably 1999ish or maybe a touch earlier
