Please do not listen to all there ne'er do wells and scoundrels who can't accept The Darkness.
I can see very little connection with Queen at all apart from rather half-baked links through their videos.
I say enjoy this time, because we may have to wait another 20 years for excessive performances like these!

I don't understand the ney sayers. The don't like the darkness because of their style or non-seriousness. But they like Valensia who likes to literally nick ideas from other bands, Queen being the most nicked from! And he's very much an 80's sounding guitar guy.
I like the Darkness, but have yet to buy the album and have a listen. I'll find out what they're about then.

personally i saw a video from the darkness the other day... and i really think they are nothing compared to queen, and have no friggin' talent at all! they sing off note, and dont know when to hit the high notes

I am less than excited to hear it. i hate remakes, especially of classics such as STL. i think that they are a great band, and i like the 70/80's influence, but i just dont know. Maybe i'll like it, but probably not. If you cant do it just the same or better, then dont bother!

John S, of all people I would've expected you to realise that just because similar chords sequences are used doesn't mean that it can't stand as a song on its own. Heck, the timing of the two are HUGELY different.
Just look at Freddie's writings. He repeats himself in plenty of songs. But hey, we enjoy them and don't question that. So why do it to this band?

Hmm... usually it's the band and lead singer that know how and when to sing! What a weird comment! If you don't like it just say that instead of thinking of some silly reason to justify your dislike of them!

The Darkness are bloody brilliant in my opinion and they will not murder any Queen songs like 5ive, Those Pepsi Slappers and Robbie talentless prick Williams. Queen are no more, discover other new Classic Rock sounding bands, the Darkness are the best.

Then why do they say they are offended by the questions regarding their seriousness in every interview? They do take themselves seriously, that's why I think they have to change their copied style or they will disappear soon. I think they're completely trashy and the fact that they don't want to admit it makes it only worse.
