"I have yet the chance to actually hear something by The Darkness - my brother told me that they were 'copying' Queen (keep in mind my brother is not a Queen fan) and said I should try to hear their song...so ever since I've wanted to."
A word of advice Manda... Buy ear plugs.;) In all seriousness, The Darkness sound like a spoof band to me... And then, seeing their video just solidified that fact. But, You may like them, However, I doubt it.;) LMAO!

I quite like the Darkness but that doesnt mean i want them to cover queen songs.....

Please do not listen to all there ne'er do wells and scoundrels who can't accept The Darkness.
I can see very little connection with Queen at all apart from rather half-baked links through their videos.

I don't understand the ney sayers. The don't like the darkness because of their style or non-seriousness. But they like Valensia who likes to literally nick ideas from other bands, Queen being the most nicked from! And he's very much an 80's sounding guitar guy.
I like the Darkness, but have yet to buy the album and have a listen. I'll find out what they're about then.

The Darkness have ALREADY covered "Somebody To Love" except the title of their version was "Xmas Time" (Don't Let The Bells End).
personally i saw a video from the darkness the other day... and i really think they are nothing compared to queen, and have no friggin' talent at all! they sing off note, and dont know when to hit the high notes
I am less than excited to hear it. i hate remakes, especially of classics such as STL. i think that they are a great band, and i like the 70/80's influence, but i just dont know. Maybe i'll like it, but probably not. If you cant do it just the same or better, then dont bother!
