Really you couldnt really tell freddie was gay until the 80s.
Yeah, you couldn't really tell, but in the 70s he looked sometimes so female (long hair, nail polish, makeup)... I dunno, but sometimes his looks could make you wonder whether he was straight or gay. Perhaps he hadn't the standard clone look, but he seemed very passive and that made him quite gay...

Gays r the best sort of people, when i found out he was gay i loved him even more (although i sort of already knew he was gay before i was told) ;-)!

I should add, having responded to this topic some time before, that for me to not like Queen or Freddie just because he's gay would make me quite the hypocrite (sp?). A) I am a gay rights activist B) For now, I fall under the L and T (FTM) in GLBT and C) Sexuality is NOT a preference (I hate it when people call it that)!

FTM? Really? I've been considering this with some degree of seriousness, as a far off "maybe". Do you think you could email me? I'd like someone to talk to about this.
Thanks! Though, for now, I'm settling for being a perverted lesbian transvestite.

I believe you mean 'Drag King' instead of 'lesbian transvestite' :-)

i love queen
i love freddie
personaly..i thought that his gayness was attractive
i mean...i like it when a guy isnt ashamed to dress up the way he wants to
its a turn on for me
even if roger, brian, or even john turned gay..they would still be my musical heros
i would say that freddies gayness made his stage pressence.
he's still my hero..rocking in heaven
his gayness never made me like queen less..it made me love queen more.
I like that Drag King show thing they've got going around, male impersonators. I've got my own little own going..okay, okay, it's just me and a piano in a funky outfit doing Elton John tunes in a chest voice, but it's close enough.
I'm only his PHYSICAL OPPOSITE. Gah. Small men are so cute, I wish I was a small man. Gah.
Ah well, Drag King it is, then.

I was informed in a magazine late 1991 just when I got interested in the band, made no difference to me.
