The QZ poll shows that over 60% of zoners will buy the DVD and CD versions of Milton Keynes. As the DVD has the same audio as the CD, why are so many people buying the CD too? Is the DVD copy-protected so that the audio cannot copied to CD-R?
Is there another reason for buy both the CD and DVD besides Queen collecting?

Is this what you call Stepford? (trying to be harmless)
Well, Mr. Great Buns is right, you can bring the Milton Keynes concert to your car, your jogging route, or wherever portability is required.

Even if something is copy-protected, you can always open an empty wave file and press record. QP has gotten plenty of my money over the years. Enough said.
Perhaps Wembley and MK are partial forgiveness for the 18 greatest hits packages of the last 13 years instead of a boxed set. So maybe I'll buy both... we'll see.

Why buy both DVD & CD MK concert?Because I'm addicted... :(
;)
Not necessary to pull that Charles Baer bullshit here, Hem. Keep it in the personal section.
I'll be buying both because I only have a half-decent quality version on my computer, and would like an official version with all 25 songs as opposed to the 18 or whatever I have already. Also, most of us don't have DVD recorders on our computers, so I can't just plop the DVD into my computer and rip all the music like others can.
And I want the DVD because it looks spectacular (well, except for the artwork).

I'm just getting the DVD, because I enjoy watching the concert more than listening to it. If I was listening to their music, I'd much rather listen to the studio recordings. But that's just my opinion.
I will definitely buy just the DVD, I see absolutely no sense in buying the CD too. If I desperately need a CD version, I can burn one myself without having to paid for it.
Indeed, if I need the audio, I'll grab it from the DVD. You don't need a DVD recorder for that, a DVD-rom is all you need (well, some software might be helpfull as well). Over here in the Netherlands it's legal to make copies for your own use (e.g. to play them in the car). And from the financial point of view, I think QP earned more than enough money on compilation CD's lately. They don't release anything extra yet, so I don't see it as investing in new releases.
Queen received much money for years and the only thing which was stimulated was the infinite re-re-release of Greatest Hits & company.
And if many people buy both the CD and DVD, Queen will receive much more money and will feel stimuled to release more stuff.
Your dreamworld sounds like a nice place.
Hey people from the group "I will buy only the DVD and using my computer I'll create the CD myself", it will be considered as a pirate version if you do this. And pirate versions are FORBIDDEN.

Who knows the next release may be the Earls Court 77 (an official release would be nice), Hammersmith 75, Argentina 81, the DVD version of Rock in Rio'85, an official release of We Are The Champions - Final Live in Japan (1985)...
Hmmm, IMO a copy of the soundtrack for home use is not prohibited, except the DVD/CD is copy-protected. But who will ever know that you extract the soundtrack to CD fr usage in car/cd/mp3-player? Only if you are going to sell, edit, exhibit, rent, exchange, hire or lend the audio, you are doing something forbidden, and that of course a real fan won't do.
Well, Queen sold hundred millions of CDs, vinyls, DVDs, and I am sure that this is not stimulating them for releases of more material, which is already recorded or even produced. We Queen fans wait for a complete catalogue for years now. Or the other live recordings which deserve to be released (like you mentioned the Court, Hyde Park etc.) - they would fit on a "Live series", maybe 3-5 DVDs. Unfortunately nothing happens, "only" Milton Keynes for now (or The Game DVD) which is - IMHO - not interesting for the masses, but for the Queen fans. And we are good costumers. Me, I have all records on vinyl and CD, every VHS available, every official released DVD, and now I think it is time to surprise the true fans with a Live Compilation, which includes the whole catalogue. Maybe it's IMHO again :))
Um...how about because Queen sell music?
Why buy both DVD & CD MK concert?
1st: To complete the CD collection.
2nd: The stamp in the original official CDs rocks!
3rd: It's illegal to copy any piece of the DVD, including the audio.
4th: I'm a Queen maniac!
5th: I'm not a parasite
6th: Queen will receive more money if people buy the both
7th: Who gains money always wants more. So, if Queen receive much money by selling the stuff, they'll soon release more stuff!
8th: Ah yeah!
I couldn't have said better myself!

3 - As Willem Jan said: It's not illegal in Holland as long as you do not sell it (i.e. for home use only, therefore most of my MP3s are legal, because I have bought all the CDs)
6,7 - They will spend the money on the musical, to bring it to every country around the world. (Maybe a little money on some DVDs)
8 - LoL
btw: I will buy both the CD and the DVD for my collection
