Why buy both DVD & CD MK concert?

I might be lead to think that Brian and Roger are making not-so-good business decisions, now that John is not around. Hmmmm....

Is is illegal to extract/copy DVD audio to "normal" audio (being CDR or PC), at least in the Netherlands. Many Dutch believe this is not illegal... I wish they were right about that. Let me tell you this: I've learned my lesson in the past. "Thanks" to BUMA/Stemra (Dutch BMI/RIAA). Enough said.

Why being both DVD & CD?

Because I am a Queen fan perhaps? Because I like to complete my collection? Because the CD booklet might contain photos that are not in the DVD booklet?

Well to be honest, I will only listen to the soundrack when seeing Freddie jump around, without visual is it just half as enjoyable. So I wont buy the CD. Apart from that, I am not a big fan of live recordings, so I will enjoy the DVD on a home theatre with chips and ice cold cola. Very trivial, I know :D

Um, actually Hem, that's not true at all. I don't think an annoyed policeman will stop anybody demanding that they show him the original copy of the CD or else. That's a bit...weird.

Burning copies for private use is certainly allowed; hell, whenever I go over to my dad's house, I always grab a load of CDs that I want to burn for myself. Then I get a frantic call from him two hours later wondering who stole his CDs. Perhaps I should leave notes, or even tell him that I'm doing so.

My original point stands, though. No matter how many times you feed your cat, you're gonna get scratched. It's just a matter of time.

I'll just get DVD when it's 1st released and ignore the fact it is illeagal to transfer it to cd.

HeM - I don`t know how does it look in other countries but in Poland you have the right to have a backup copy of legaly copied stuff in ANY form (mp3, audio, video, MC, whatever) you can have two backups at a time. So I`ll buy the goddam DVD and rip the audio! And don`t try to learn me law - my cousin is a lawyer :)

I'll buy the CD version when it comes out in card sleeve form in Japan. Considering the timing of the other live albums being released in card sleeve form, I can't believe they didn't think to do this one at the same time.

Until then, I'll make my own CD version just for something to do. Maybe a single-disc edit like I did with the WWRY DVD.

nobody says that we want to download the Milton Keynes from a russian piracy site - there are just a few people who wont buy the CD, only the DVD. Thats all.

If someone buys the Live Aid DVD, and they dont release a CD to it, and we would extract the audio on CD for home use, the hungry little african children will receive the same amount of money - not depending on if I copy the Audio to a CD or not...

And you know, that we all are not fans of piracy! I guess minimum 50% of the QZ-ers have all the CDs, DVDs and/or/xor vinyl, tape, VHS, whatever released by Queen. We paid enough to the Gentlemen, so we have the right to copy the audio of every kind of material FOR HOME USE as backup, especially when we own the item! The other fact is, that a backup is a security CD or DVD, for the case that the original one (or the copied one) is damaged.

Ok, bite my head off for this, nevermind! IMHO it is no crime to copy the audio for personal use.

Sure, Queen wants to sell everything. No doubt. But I think the release of the CD is the same as the release of Live at Wembley 86 again. For those who dont want to spend "the coins more" for a DVD, they can have the audio. I dont think that the members of Queen would say "Hey, buy both!" Why should we? And I would love to ask Brian, if he cares that I *WILL* copy the audio to CD :)
Well, you have your opinion, it's just funny that you praise the Queen productions this lot :)

... by the way:
if the DVD is copy-protected, it is even forbidden to record the audio to tape, mp3, Minidisc, whatever... but what if I would want to buy the Milton Keynes on tape or Minidisc? It is not available, yes. So I may not even extract a copy from DVD to tape or whatever...
you know what? I will ENJOY copying the dvd audio to CD, even if i wont listen to it :D
