Most unusual Queen song that you've heard on the radio.

'Made In Heaven' (Queen version) and once one of our night TV news was ending and host said: "As Freddie Mercury sung: go to sleep and dream again, soon your hopes will rise and then, from all this gloom life, life can start anew, and there'll be no crying soon. Goodbye, ladies and gentlemen!" I was shocked hearing Dear Friends lyrics spoken by TV news host in the middle of the night!

I once heard the whole Sheer Heart Attack album on the radio.

I did my own tribute to Freddie back in early december 1991 in a local FM Station (Brasília, Brazil). I had two programs of two hours each, on sundays.

All of the other radio stations had their own shows, and the greatest hits was all they played.

So I decided to play the good ones, that I had never (or rarelly) heard on the radio. As far as I remember, these were included:

- The prophet's song;
- I go crazy;
- Ogre battle;
- Funny how love is;
- Son and daughter;
- Lilly of the valley;
- Love of my life (studio);
- Keep passing the open windows;
- Love kills (metropolis version);
- Was it all worht it.

THAT was fun :D

I did some more shows from november 1992 to november 1994, but that was all.

However, I am not listening to many radio stations, so there might be some more interesting songs on air in these parts.

Over the last few years on a Ottawa station I've heard Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon, You Take My Breath Away, Keep Passing the Open Windows and Made in Heaven.

Mansfield 103.2FM played Fairy Feller's Masterstroke and March of the Black Queen back to back one night last summer, but it could have had something to do with me requesting them.

We have this one radio station here that swore they NEVER play Queen.. I would call them every weekend and request it, but they said it wasn't in their "format" they were a top 40 radio station.. hahaha, then one day I heard them playing "These Are The Days Of Our Lives" and while it was still playing I called in and JUST happened to get the very DJ that made it a point to tell me off.. and I asked him who that was and he said Queen, that is their latest.. and I said.. wait a moment, YOU told me you never play them, and he said, well, I guess we do..

BTW, If there is anyone from The Tri cities here in Michigan, that station was 102.5 WIOG

Oh and I remember the first time I heard "Thank God It's Christmas" on the radio.. I was working, I about shit my pants.. I was so excited..

Bavarian stations primarily play their later stuff, such as Innuendo, Heaven For Everyone, TMLWKY and You Don't Fool Me (apart from the most obvious greatest hits).

I also seem to recollect hearing Dog With A Bone somewhere. I dont think it was on the radio and if it was where would they of got it from? I've definatly heard it somewhere.

I hear These Are The Days Of Our Lives every once in a while. It just throws me off when I hear it because it isn't the usual Queen song you hear on the radio.

NPR played La Japonaise a few years ago on a special that featured Montserrat Caballe and her life's work. When I heard that, I was driving down the freeway and had to get off at the next exit, stop the car and LISTEN!! It's the only time I have EVER heard that on the radio!! After the song was finished the person doing the voice-overs said, "Madame Caballe did a collaboration with the late Freddie Mercury, lead singer of Queen, and this song was the standout of the album." Oh how Freddie would have loved to hear that! "Guide Me Home" was played shortly afterwards and all I could do was smile!
