I dont think Paul Rodgers would be alowed to just attempt to replace Freddie in some tacky queen tribute way simply because Brian and Rodger loved Freddie as much as anyone. They want PR to be just another unique singer.
i also dont think Brian and rodger have, or have ever had, a massive vocal rnage - surely needed to sing queen songs. Therefore an outsider is a must for this tour. I dont know a lot about PR, i'll probably end up being a fan after i see them in hyde park, but i hear he has similar qualities to Freddie, i say support the boys and i rekon they'll sound awsome.

No no, everyone one deserves their opinion, only that i sort of have to disagree with you, Queen is not dead, ashame to say it but only Freddie, the lead singer is dead, Queen lives on and always will in everyones hearts, if Queen were dead then they wudnt continue to use Queen as their name at gigs such as 46664, and wud not be featured with bands, e,g, 5ive and Queen, Robbie Williams and Queen etc, but i agree that no one can or will Replace Freddie, he was one of a kind and will NEVER be replaced!

It's perfect with Rodgers- it couldn't have been better.
I think Roger and Brian should sing. They could handle a show without any outsider's help. I think George Michael's voice sometimes can get close to Freddie's (sometimes!). But since nobody can replace him, then why even try? Roger and Brian did it great with Queen songs, and with "No one but you". I hate to think they're going on tour with someone, anyone, trying to impersonate Freddie, though of course they'll deny it. Give me a new Queen album with some creativity!

This would be my preference...I agree that I would rather that Brian and Roger go and continue Queen, singing themselves. I adore "No One But You" and "Let Me Live",
but if any artist ever..tried or attempted to at least sing..with Queen..not as a part of Queen,... the Only candidate I would halfway be pleased with, would Only be George Michael. While I agree NOone can ever replace or fill Freddie's legendary talents, and while George Michael can't handle the entire vocal range required of all of Queen's song repetoire,
I am very pleased with what he did at The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert and I must say I adore both of his versions of "Somebody To Love" and his duet with Lisa Stansfield on "These Are The Days Of Our Lives". I never could think of anyone except George Michael who at least does some justice and class to..some of Queen's song list.
With the exception of George Michael, and even then I would not be 100% happy with him,
I want Roger and Brian to take on the lead vocals. They would do great. And I also love their solo work too! Come on Brian & Roger...we have faith in you guys!!!! Cheer Cheer Rah Rah!!!!
Arlene, I'm so happy there's someone who feels the same as I do!!!!!! I agree with every word you said. I too think George Michael did incredibly well. I was very much undecided if I should or should not go see the Queen PR concert. I finally decided not to go...I'm afraid that would have totally depressed me. Still I know I'll miss much.

You got me on this too. I desperately want the Queen tour to come to the USA, but...only so I can see Brian and Roger as I have NEVER seen Queen live as they stopped touring here by the time I was old enough to go to concerts.
I have seen Paul Rodgers live here and to be honest, for what he did, he was quite enjoyable, but so was the act he opened for, Steve Miller, but I'm not a fan of either and you couldn't pay me to buy any of their records.
Also, the only reason I saw Paul Rodgers and the other act on the bill, Steve Miller, was I won the tickets at a record store and when I entered, my friend even said, why in the hell did you enter, you hate both those artists and I said...
Cause I like to win free stuff, and it's still fun to attend a free concert.
But I Hate the idea of Paul Rodgers singing lead with Queen. And yes I am being open minded and objective. I listened to all of his performances with Brian & Roger on the Capitol Gold Interview. I mean he is a capable singer, he has stage prescence, I mean hell he did front Bad Compnay & Free and I ....like..some of their stuff.
But here in the USA we have a saying, you can eat Mac & Cheese (macaroni & Cheese), or lobster.
Well Paul is mac & cheese, and I like mac & cheese, it's ok.
But any member of Queen, and of course, Freddie are not just lobster, ....
dears....they are Pheasant under the finest crystal glass with Dom Perignon Champagne.
If they tour the USA...I will go...only to see Brian & Roger....and I'll be thinking of Freddie and John.
