i can tell im about to be shot by someone here, but hell. i agree, with the fact that africa have a corrupt government. some places in africa and other poorer countries have these beautiful hotels, which cost millions to build, yet a fair chunk of their population is starving. and i hate it how everywhere is saying "this concert will end poverty forever"..well, no it won't. unless someone takes out the freaking government, and put a better one in place, there will always be poverty. its human nature: the rich get richer, while the poor get poorer. thats exactly why communism doesnt work. people want power, and that leads to money.
and with the tsunami thing, (different topic, i know), why hasnt the world responded with the same generousity to poverty stricten countries all year round, instead of just this once. its extremely annoying.

I have absolutely nothing against them - in fact what I have heard, I like - but of course Roger is entitiled to express an opinon. It would be a strange world if we all liked exacly the same things ... I think I detect a note of pique in the article ... presumably they think they have to spring to Coldplay's defence by insulting me. I actually don't think Coldplay need this kind of defence ... as far as I can see, they're doing just fine.

And they play stadiums like Crystal Palace and The Reebok which, for a concert, have about a 30,000 attendance.
Oasis and U2 play about 3 nights at Croke Park which is about 80,000 and City's ground which is about 40,000 per night! They are bigger than Coldplay (even though Oasis and The States don't really mix).

When that whole Brit pop thing happened in the mid 1990's and here in the USA, the music industry kept ramming both Oasis and Blur down our throats here, I think because the music industry and radio wanted so badly to hope for the next great British invasion of music talent.
But both bands were NOT it. To top that I have heard that alot of people were turned off by Oasis's attitude problem especially, where they arrogantly dissed every music artist who ever walked the planet except The Beatles, plus the tabloid trash talk and, battles, antics of the Gallagher Brothers didn't help matters any.
Coldplay are so boring, everything sounds the same, I agree with roger, they are shit.

Because normally he doesn't state the obvious. Yeah, Coldplay sucks. So what? So does everyband to come out in the new millenium minus maybe one or two. Furthermore, almost everyband sucks compared to Queen.
Roger must be bitter, rightfully so, that Coldplay gets attention over his solo career when he dominates that band so obviously.
