Can one of you bigger Floyd fans do me a favor?
Can you tell me, on the original recordings of Floyds biggest hits....who sang??
Like who sang Money? Another Brick in the wall? Comfortably numb?..etc
Sure thing... Money is Gilmour, and Brick and Numb are Waters.

Put it this way.
Earlier Pink Floyd = Gilmour.
1977 or around there, and above = Waters.
Post-1982 = Gilmour.

I caught the Pink Floyd stuff and was very impressed. I'm no fan, but when they played, their sound was great! And the tracks really had a certain mood that felt cool to me. Definitely high up there on my faves list.

Big Question now is, are they gonna tour?
That alone would be the biggest tour of any year, Honest to make them a lot more richer then they thought they could be, I see sold out stadiums everywhere.

Errr... actually Comfortably Numb is BOTH Gilmour and Waters!
"Hello... is there anybody in there" = Waters
"There is no pain..." = Gilmour
On Live 8 voals where like this:
-Speak to me/Breathe - Gilmour
-Money - Gimour
-Wish you were here - Gilmour with not-so-good second voice from Waters
-Comfortably Numb - duet, usual roles
Why they broke up?
Well, round the time of Animals and The Wall (end 70's) Waters was taking over as the main songwriter of the band. After The Wall Waters did The Final Cut basically on his own (with just a little help from Gilmour for one vocal and two guitarsolo's. Richard Wright already got sacked).
Second to that: mainly Gilmour and Waters hated eachother. Plus Waters was getting pretty paranoid and got fucked up by the whole situation and as a result started insulting and even spitting on people in the audience. Let's just say, there was a lot going on in his mind.
(But listening to the albums is enough to proof that! ;-)
After The Final Cut, Waters wanted to call it a day and announced the breakup of the band.
Few years later Gilmour announced that he wanted to carry on with Mason and Wright under the Floyd-name.
Waters dragged them to court over the name and lost. Both gone separate ways since that and had not even spoken to eachtoher untill recently.
To me personally Floyd stopped after Waters left. Love all their work to death, but I just can not listen to the post-Waters albums...
I get sooo bored and I cannot seem to listen to Gilmours voice for over an hour...
Musically I've always been more of a Waters fan. (His Amused to Death album is a true masterpiece!)

I loved their performance... I saw Who and they were great, I kinda liked Razorlight but... when Floyds hit the stage that was it- the magic was in the air, they just showed EVERYBODY what it's all about- Robbie, Keane, Coldplay, Madonna- anyone- were put to shame by those guys... It wasn't just background music, some stupid radio hits- it was Music witha capital M. Incredible, and I was so happy they didn't do Another Brick In The Wall...
There was only one thing I didn't like- the amount of time they were given... Another 20 minutes and Shine On You Crazy Diamond- would anyone complain?
I must say I stopped watching when they finished- I switched of TV and put on WISH YOU WERE HERE on my hi-fi... After this performance thay should have switch on all the lights and finish the whole thing. Macca should have been BEFORE, not after...
Incredible stuff- WHAT A YEAR! Pink Floyd together, Queen on tour with Paul Rodgers... If Led Zeppelin are gonna tour with some drummer I'll go crazy...

If you are a member of Demonoid.com you can download that and others from there.
I have no idea why my post went to the top of the page, but oh well... the version I have is from BBC3 and is in MPG format, it is GREAT quality... but it is a large file.. which is why it isnt up there anymore, there are lower quality/file size versions up there and ppl would rather get those..
