my thoughts on the situation.... if you look at the history of rock... i can't think of a band besides abba that hasnt reunited.. in either studio or tour.... that said... just because paul mccartney's last album wasnt as good as band on the run, or just because the who havent had an album since 1982, or just because jim morrison is dead and john densmore doesnt want to play with ray and robbie in their new version of the doors... that doesnt mean that i didnt have a blast at each of those shows... why? well.. because i enjoy the music... and its such an enjoyable thing to see my favorite songs being played by my favorite musicians... even if its only half the band.... guess what? thats half more than ive got to see before... the whole concert experience is about having fun.... its different than the 1970's ... true... but that doesnt mean that it isnt a thrill to see these great acts... so... anyway... Q+PR COME TO TEXAS!!!

For someone who claims to work in the recording industry, you really haven't the foggest clue regarding what your babbling on & on about. How can you say Brian & Roger have lowered themselves & the Queen name to sad & sloppy performances on stage? They are not meerly going through the motions as you state. You clearly haven't seen or listen to any of the shows. Brian is at the top of his game right now. He's playing as well, if not better than he did in the late 70's & 80's. Roger may not physically look like he is in top form but his playing is spot on & tight as ever. Calling Paul a karreokie singer is a total insult to his talent. No he's not Freddie, he never had to be. But he's doing a damn excellent job performing these songs. He is hitting notes night after night that Freddie wouldn't hit. I'm not saying he's a better singer than Freddie, no one is. But he certainly isn't doing any great injustice as you would have us believe. He sounds like its 1975 again!
As for Pete Townshend, you are a complete idiot. He is far from a second rate guitarist. I have seen him live several times, most recently in 2002. He played better than ever. He & Daultry have clearly found the foutain of youth. Both were in excellent shape. Pete may not be a technically brilliant guitarist. But 'attytude', energy, & emotion will far outweigh technical perfection. He was an animal onstage.

The tour is 'bombing' quite nicely in Pittsburgh. The front 20 rows are nearly sold out (this is just first two hours of the PRE-SALE, remind you...) and the tix don't even go on sale to public til Saturday.

this is a great thread with strong points made on each side.but the facts are that we are off to a great start-check washington,chicago ect.lower bowls already sold out!Im in Philly and trhe buzz here is amazing.the downer-they didnt come and do this for the works and magic tours .never doubt the Queen fans in USA,even if you think this tour is a farce.Its still the country in which they have played to the most fans.
