An evening of Queen material replacing regular broadcasting on all channels every Nov 24?

Or is it just the fact that there has been a bit of coverage of the 25th anniversary of Lennon's death in the last week, and you've extrapolated that into "every year we get this Lennon stuff, what about Freddie?", failing to remember that there was no hoop=la on Lennon's 24th anniversary?

As for the rest of you "Freddie/John was better" - grow up. They were different, Freddie would not have succeeded without John laying the groundwork as part of the Beatles, and since Freddie was cremated, he is now a lot smaller...
A bit of a hypocrite, aren't you my dear?

Not true. He was a greater poet, but an inferior musician.
Fully agree. Freddie was a far better musician and performer, but there's no denying that Lennon was not only a far better lyricist than Freddie, but one of the great lyricists of all time.

You must not know very much about Freddie to say something so foolish,my dear:)

Well actually John was also cremated

Imagine how little Fred weighed when he died..bound to generate less ashes than the perfectly healthy (apart from the gunshot wound) Lennon.
I do believe that Penetration G is far more preoccupied with getting penetrated than with creating intelligent posts to be quite honest:)

Okay, that just plain crossed the line. Do you even have a line, P_G?

Freddie or Lennon... They're both Gods!!!!

get real kids
got cut off there.
get real kids. john lennon smaller than freddie?

absolutely no way.

and please don't start spouting weeks on chart nonsense. the beatles are the biggest and greatest band of all time end of discussion

of course you are allowed to prefer freddie if you so wish. after all some people prefer cliff richard to the beatles
No people don't judge it on the number of weeks spent on the chart, they judge it by the music they both produced, and that's why they came to the conclusion that Freddie Mercury is a better musician than John Lennon.

Of course you are allowed to prefer John Lennon if you so wish....

i didn't say i preferred john lennon, i like both of them for different things.
i probably prefer lennon the man to mercury the man though.

i will concede that freddie mercury was a technically better pianist than john lennon.
however, as a songwriter lennon was far more influential than freddie.

as a world icon, john lennon was far more influential than freddie.

as a band, the beatles were far more influential that queen.
Yeah man like this one friend of mine actually he's not a friend friend but a friend of a friend if you know what i mean anyway he once said that freddie once took like this huge monster shit and it came out gold and freddie looked at it and went oh my god i just laid a golden egg but he didn't know that whatever he had eaten had too much yellow dye in it but anyway he like thought he was hot shit no pun intended and he actually called up john lennon and said hey i just laid this golden shit beat that you walrus and john said oh wow hey listen i'm sorry i didn't mean to step on your toes there but you clearly are better than me in any way shape and form that anyone can possibly imagine so i abdicate my throne to you and i hope that everyone will plainly see that i am completely inferior to you and freddie was so inspired by this incident that he went on to write one of his best ever songs of all time called body language.
To be honest, I think Brian May is a much better lyricist than John Lennon ever was.
Creativity can always cover for a lack of knowledge.
And i thought Roger Taylor is better at writing lyrics than Brian May.....

So many different opinions.....so little time...

I know this is an opinion forum, and I appreciate everybody's kind thoughts for Freddie. Definitely a top 5, but Lennon?

PERFORMANCE: I think it's more like Elvis, Lennon/Beatles, FM/Queen, and I am totally Queen biased. The Beatles shook a whole Generation.

SONGWRITING: Lennon, Dylan, Mercury/May

Then again, I could be slightly mad.
Can Dhramwalakalabanaramabamalamadingdong please tell me what was hypocritical about my post?

As for my "line" - it's just drawn in a different plane.

About 4ft 3" - why do you think he was persecuted so much?
