Could Jesus Have Been Married and Fathered a Child?

Since theres all this DaVinci Code hysteria going on, i thought it would be appropriate to bring up a topic on something like this.

So what do you guys and gals think? Do you think it was possible and do you think it actually happend? I belive that it did happend. I know people are going to say where is the proof, there is prrof and there was a tremendous amount of proof but throughout the hundreds of years the church destryed and burned all material and writtings that they thought did not follow what they thought was right. And about the Priory of Sion, why couldnt famous people from history have belonged to something like this, like DaVinci and Newton? They say they couldnt have because someone like them would have eventually written something about belonging to somwething like that, but DaVinci was someone who was mysterious in his day and was very contraversial during his life with many of his paitings and writings and inventions. Just my opinion, now lets see what your opinion is.

I believe that Jesus was a great guy, that's all. I don't really care if he had a family. He might have had one.

Yeah, I agree with you, he was probable the best human to have ever lived, too bad we dont have a time machine to go back intime to get everything right and see how everything really went on.

The Bible is a pretty uncertain book, full of crazy stuff and things like that; I really think that the Jesus thing and all that is the only thing that's worth to read, at all.

I recently read an opinion piece somewhere that I thought was interesting. Someone made the comment that if Jesus was married and had children it would have been mentioned time and again. The response was, no, it wouldn't have been mentioned because it was not unusual. What WAS unusual was for a man of Jesus' age to NOT be married and so THAT would have been mentioned as an oddity.

IMO, sure he could have been married and fathered a child or children. Why not?

I think what gets me most about this (not this thread but the world-wide hysteria) is - Why does it matter?

the da vinci code is a good read, it's also a lot of fun...with a smattering of fact thrown in for good measure...all in all it works....but so do most conspiracy theories...
i think most people should just enjoy the film./book/computer game etc


anyhow...if you really want to get into the whole Jesus/Mary Mags thingy...read Holy Blood, Holy Grail...and follow it up with The Last Templar - which is a properly researched book
