Freddie VS. Brian - "Too Much Love Will Kill You" - ??

This topic is old. perhaps The greatest rock singer ever compared to the voice of brian may?....please don't get me started.

There's plenty to be considered in any performance besides the voice of the person singing.

Yah but that makes little sense. This song doesn't *need* the greatest rock singer ever. It's overpowering.
If the question is "which is the better vocal performance" then please correct me, I'd gladly choose Freddie's version.
The question is 'which do you prefer?', and I have to say Brian because his performance is more apt for the mood of the song.

And you're the 2nd person to basically write 'don't get me started' in this thread - as though you have a whole 12 page comment to make on all the reasons Brian May sucks or something... but you don't, do you? :P

I never said brian sucks, he's actually one of my favorite guitarists from my favorite band. I'm talking about brians voice in the chorus, it's painful to listen to his voice sometimes. That's my opinion, the made in heaven version for me is simply stronger. Do you want me to change my opinion just to please you?...Do you want me to say that brians voice is great just to make you happy?...

I have both songs and i prefer Brian's version but i also have a 7 minute remix on which you can hear them sing the chorus both which is very lovely and the remix ends with a long awesome guitar solo. Very nice done remix and i love it.

I know, Brian can sound as an hurt animal...esspecially live, for example TMLWKY at the Tribute..

But studio wise, I like Brian's versions much more because it is straight from the heart. Of course Freddie has a much better voice, not even a chance for Brian to compete. But Brians version touches me deeply, I believe him, I hear he is really in pain and doesnt knwo what to do with his life at that moment. It is honest and sincere, I think it is highly respectable that he shows so much of himself in that song...

Brian's is nr 1!!

brian has too weak voice and freddie sings like 10x powerful than brian. freddie is definitely better on this one.

For the "impact" factor, I think that the Concert for Life version was the best. But without that, I would say--Made in Heaven.

I prefer Brian singing, because it's his song and the emotion he puts into it has meaning if you know a bit about his personal life.

The only thing I prefer in the Queen version is the solo :)

I prefer Brian's take on this song, vocally.

Fred's, but there needs to be more cowbell.

Well...it wasnt entirely his song...but he did take a part in composing it...didnt he? at least thats what i read...What i meant was that he really does show the emotion that the song has to bring...about the pain of having too much love - haha! Brian sounds more like the bearer of the pain, while Freddie is a victim...am i making any sense at all? I hope i didnt offend anyone. Im just trying to get my point and opinion accross...sorry.
