Brian's I don't know why though!
queen s version is better!!!! all four together=best band on the planet.....
Freddie, strong, powerfull, and full of emotion.
brian didn't even write the lyrics, and what was brian complaining about anyhow?...oh yea, he had to much love growing up, the poor guy felt sheltered. Now compare that with freddie singing it while he knew he had aids. Now you tell me who had bigger problems at the time?

This I can see what you mean - however when one sings a song, the significance no longer comes from the person who wrote it, but rather the one who's singing it.
If this were written by Tiny Tim, he might've written this song as a euphemism for eating too much popcorn, but I imagine people who cover it might have something else on their mind while doing so.

Come now! Brian had to cope with Freddie carking it, his dad carking it, his marriage going balls up, depression (which is an actual illness you know). People have had worse lives; but if it were you, would you be chipper?
The guy is a musician - it's his *job* to express the things that are making him miserable :P

you must be kidding?....your ignorance is truly showing thru, freddie friends were dying one by one and the man knew he only had a year or so to live, he also was gonna face a horribly slow and painful death at the young age of 45. brians father died when he was in his late forties, a grown man, and yes I could relate to this feeling as mine passed away when I was 25. Is it a good feeling?...obviously not, but brian has the chance at 59 years of age to live again and perform. Freddie will never have that chance. now you tell me Who had more problems at the time?

Mike, come on now....this doesnt make sense...The fact that Freddie was ill doesnt mean that Brian couldnt write about his own pain. If you think like that then you also must think that Freddie was complaining too much because at that time there were a lot of people in Africa who also had AIDS but didnt get the good treatment he got with his money and everything.

your right sunshine freddie was also a rich brat, but we make like these famous people's problems mean more than the rest us. Brian has had a great life, lets not get into this poor brian stuff. You know, Mr soulful and heartbroken brian. So I agree with you sunshine about freddie, but this whole poor brian stuff makes me sick. I'd rather just talk about the music.
