You are slow dear mr Brooks...explains the delay on the boxsets ;) And please check you CAPS, cuz you're just being very rude.
We love you Mandy!
Greg, if QP ever consider another QPR visual release, let me know. What about a 'bootlegging the bootleggers'-kinda thing as on the new Pink Floyd PULSE dvd?! I'd surely provide you with some nice 2005/2006 films.
I WOULD! Put up! But not in here.
(Btw; my understanding is that someone else already showed you parts of my films at conventions...)
Mail-adress is in my profile; also for general talk or info's if you want. ;-)
As to the Sunbury video - I do not believe it exists but I will gladly apologise if I am wrong.

As to John's IBEX tapes: some of us know about the Ibex tapes but John never complained on a public board about the loss of his tape as far as I remember. I think it's completely out of order to mock about a private email you got from John and it's also totally out of order to downplay the loss - it does not matter how many tapes were NOT lost. It's also totally irrelevant if John kept a copy or not - fact is that copies were sold on ebay and the tape lost its value through these ebay sales. If your dismissive and sarcastic comments are representative for Queen's attitude towards private collectors who lend recordings to them, then it's obvious that other collectors think twice before lending something to them again.

IT IS TRUE THAT JSS's TAPE WAS LOST. IT WAS REGRETTABLE, BUT THESE THINGS HAPPEN… AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY HE MENTIONS THAT, DESPITE ME AND ANOTHER QPL COLLEAGUE APOLOGISING PROFUSELY. WHAT MORE COULD WE DO.

IT GOT LOST - ONE TAPE IN THE 8 YEARS I'VE BEEN HERE, AND BELIEVE ME THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF TAPES IN THE QUEEN ARCHIVE A GOOD DEAL MORE INTERESTING AND EXCITING THAN THE IBEX TAPE THAT JSS LOANED US.

AND.... I HAVE TO SAY... THAT WE OBVIOUSLY ASSUMED JSS HAD PROVIDED US WITH A COPY, NOT HIS ONLY MASTER... AS HE 'SAID' AND TOLD EVERYONE WAS THE CASE.
I hate to air dirty laundry in public, it is so undignified.

Thank you for apologising for the loss of my Ibex tape, I feel so much better knowing that all those e-bay pirates who have survived off my back for so long, did so from a genuine mistake. You will also need to forgive me if I tend to bring this up from time-to-time, as while the Bible suggests I should forgive and turn the other cheek, I am but human with a very long memory.

While it is true that I did indeed retain a digital mini-disc and cassette back up of the Ibex material, the tape I provided QPL was indeed the original, as I (stupidly) believed that the master was not only the best quality (even if it was safety copied), but a loan – and as a loan would be properly returned.

As by your own admission this never happened, why should I, or anyone else, ever advance Queen Productions anything again? To quote those Chinese again; ‘Sh*t on me once – shame on you, sh*t on me twice – shame on me’.

GB - If you lent someone a copy or something rare to use , you would expect it back wouldn't you? Can't you see why JSS may be a little angry/bitter?

He has spent a lot of effort both in financial and time collecting music/items of the band he loves. Only to have QPL use the material then mislay it? I think you would be rather ticked off also.

If you can't trust QPL to look after recordings sent to them, then it's a little shoddy down there isn't it. All it takes is a little care, does it not?

A worry to all Queen fans is that collectors may not wish to send in material to QPL, if it can't be looked after and cared for. This would mean that fans never get the chance to hear these rarities, but then again we'll probably never hear anything from within the archives anyway unless it's another bloody compilation or yet another version of WWRY.
Boom-boom. Big strong man like you... shouldn't be afraid of a little boom-boom.
[QUOTENAME]Queen Archivist wrote: [/QUOTENAME]STRATMAN.

Rest assured what i share with them will NOT be complete and the best quality, just a teaser video, when they are interested, then we can talk.

THIS IS FAIR ENOUGH. I'D DO THE SAME.

I'VE GOT A HORRIBLE, SYNICAL FEELING THAT EVEN A SAMPLE VIDEO ISN'T GOING TO MATERIALISE, STRATMAN... MUCH LESS AN ORIGINAL ENTIRE CONCERT FOOTAGE. I'M SCEPTICAL, TRUE, BUT I HAVE A 6TH SENSE ON THESE THINGS. BUT YOU MIGHT PROVE ME WRONG - LETS HOPE SO.

IT IS TRUE THAT JSS's TAPE WAS LOST. IT WAS REGRETTABLE, BUT THESE THINGS HAPPEN.

JOHN IS ALWAYS ON ABOUT IT, EVEN LAST NIGHT, AGAIN, ACTUALLY, IN A PRIVATE MOANING EMAIL TO ME. AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY HE MENTIONS THAT, DESPITE ME AND ANOTHER QPL COLLEAGUE APOLOGISING PROFUSELY. WHAT MORE COULD WE DO.

DO YOU BELIEVE THAT???????????

TELL YOU SOMETHING... I STILL BELIEVE JSS SUPPLIED A COPY. THERE IS NO WAY THAT JSS WOULD HAVE BEEN SILLY ENOUGH TO SEND THE ONLY ONE, AND NOT KEEP A COPY.

IF YOU BELIEVE THAT, THEN YOU ARE INDEED AS GULLIBLE AS I WAS SUGGESTING YESTERDAY - SEE MY THREAD ABOUT THE TWO FACES OF JSS.

Ok so his was lost.. ok. One thing Greg, lay off of me with the whole Liar, or possibly a liar bullshit, ok? I am not a child nor am i someone who has the time to sit and and make shit up, ok? SO lay off! As i stated, i am OUT OF TOWN ON BUSINESS, so therefore i cannot upload anything right this second, ok? Understand? GOD i wish you would actually read and comprehend what everyone writes. Now that i have vented.... I will give you what you want, but not to prove any points like YV is wrong, or i am the man, nothing as the such, just to provide a peice of Queen history. And there you have it.
YoungStratMan I would love to be wrong. A video about the Sunbury festival would be a dream come true but please understand that the way and the point of time you brought it up here on the board gives reason to have doubts. I'll be patiently waiting until you are back home and provide the sample.
Peace:)

As I remember YSM wrote for the first time about this tape few weeks before current GB vs QZ case, to be honest...

YV: A simple & polite question - which I hope you will answer honestly.

Recently in another thread you enqired about a 'Hangman' acetate. Based on all you have learned so far, if you owned something as rare, would you genuinely loan this to QPL?

If I owned the Hangman acetate, best I would give to QP was a cd transfer of the recording on it.

I would never ever want my acetate to be played again with whatever needle no matter the owner!

I know I'm not the one being asked, but my 2 cents (I've been giving out a lot of those lately): I would give them a lossless file to toy with and remaster and do whatever it is they do over there, but before that I would release an mp3 to the general public (QueenZone). So there.

I don't think you can blame QPL for wanting their archives to be complete, nor can you blame us fans for being curious. A studio version of "Hangman" is one of those rareties that we've only dreamed about.

Here's another simple and polite question: If Brian May called you up personally and asked you nicely (he is rather nice you know) to lend him the acetate and that he would personally master the record himself and he would make sure that you get it back, would you agree?

V.
I'm as mad as HELL, and I'm not going to take this anymore!

I am not Mr. Unreasonable, and I am generous by nature, but I have many faults, and one is that I do not suffer fools gladly, nor am I open to be made an ars* of.

PS: I think your idea of a 'board' of archivists (and preservationists - to add my own 2p) was an excllent idea.
"Listen to them. Children of the night. What music they make."
If not the Hangman studio track isnt in the box set we all is big time loosers ! whos fault ? GB or JSS or both or is the queen comunity ? i think its a bad mix of these.

Sunbury gig from 1974 who YoungStratMan own a filmed copy of belongs to the queen history & should also been shown to the queen world in some way as an easteregg in some DVD realese maybe ?

Well all hidden/lost gems should !! come on all you collectors come on GB come on all queenfans let us show the great queen spirit & help those people who sit on the important stuff to make peace so we all can be winners.

That time will come one day you'll see when we can all be
friends

On the one hand I would want to share with the serious and honest fans who spend their money within the limits of their income and I would want to add to the completeness of an anthology.

But from what I have seen on previous occasions and from what I have seen recently I would not lend then something that expensive. I think that the attitude displayed here by the Queen Archivist is disgusting. I think that Queen as a group or/and company MUST be aware of what happened to your IBEX tape and they must be aware about the performance of their archivist on this board. It does not add to their reputation. No - I would not give them anything unique.
