First of all, i really don't like that remark that said screw amercican citizens. I have found that most americans are Queen fans and just don't know it. A lot of the people i met knew tons of Queen songs, but never heard of Queen. I mean, there isn't anyone alive today that hasn't heard of WWRY or WATC, come on if u didn't u must have been living underground for the about the past 30 years. The Beatles and The Rolling Stones are HUGE here, so please don't say they're not. Yeah, I'm praying for just one queen documentary and I wish more Americans would appreciate Queen, but i doubt it will happen. MTV will never have anything on Queen since it has nothing to do with music anymore, even the popular music. So don't hold your breath waiting for any recognition for Freddie. I say just have a Queen Marathon by yourself. Listen to all your CD's and DVD's. Thats what I'm doing.

I agree with what was said earlier about there being a lot of people in America that like Queen but just don't know it. I blame Hollywood Records, and Queen's management, they're responsible for Press Releases for Queen and what not; and they've done a horrible job promoting the release of the last couple of Queen's compilation releases, and their spring tour in America.

Who said anything about British music. Led Zeppelin and the Beatles were MASSIVE in the USA, not to mention the Rolling Stones who hold every tour record we have. It's not Britain that's being dissed, it's Queen.
And while the radio stations here do play the shit out of Bo Rhap, We Will Rock You, Fat Bottomed Girls, We Are The Champs and a few other songs... Something like A Kind of Magic and Hammer To Fall would never get airplay today. I don't think the Made In Heaven album even cracked the top 40 when it was released. I damn sure remember NEVER hearing a single track get airplay here. They don't even release Queen music until at least a couple of weeks, usually longer, after the rest of the planet releases it. I remember being SO PISSED OFF two years ago when the Milton Keynes concert trailed the Euro-release by 2 or 3 weeks.
I will say, this year's American Idol and Rock Honors programs have given Queen the most USA attention and publicity they have had since Live Aid. [/QUOTE]

As for Queen not getting recognition, I'd say that appearing on American Idol and Rock Honors is a shitload of recognition. I don't even remember the last time the Stones were recognized; they just have several tours sponsored by good publicity - apparently Queen's management isn't quite as good when it comes to marketing. In fact, Queen is one of the most recognized bands in America for its age. It's merely the fact that Queen is part of the past (they are no longer mainstream, and God knows when the last time was that they released original material - which, they no longer legitimately can, missing the lead singer and all...and I hardly count Made In Heaven as legitimate original material) that they do not get the recognition of, say, 50 Cent. In fact, all Queen is doing now is touring with PR playing old Bad Company, Free, and Queen songs. It's basically a tour saying, "If you couldn't check us out back then, or if you want to check us out again now, you can," instead of, "Come check out our NEW MATERIAL."

how is made in heaven not "legitimate original material"? freddie helped start the project and the others finished it. just because it was released posthumously doesn't make it less original.
Hi. I'm a Brit & have sympathy for your plight. Over here, the BBC is running a special show, so maybe if enough people lobby BBC America, they may just show it. Just a thought.
