Let's face it, as good musicians as Queen were the truth is that they weren't exactly brilliant when it came to writing lyrics.
Post the most atrocious lyric line here:
- Meeeeeeeeeoooowwww!! (Delilah)
- People get shot by people, people with guns (Put Out The Fire)
- We had a food fight in somebody's face (Party)
- We were so dandy, we love you madly (Was It All Worth It)
- Don't try suicide, you're just gonna hate it (Don't Try Suicide)
- Told my girl I have to forget her, gotta buy me a new carburator (I'm In Love With My Car)
[QUOTENAME]DCM wrote: [/QUOTENAME]" Keep passing the open windows", is a awkward metaphor of some kind. Though Freddies vocal is very sincere. This is of topic but i have missed speaking to Charles.
I always figured because people in the wrong state of mind, tend to want to jump out of open windows.

keep passing the open windows is actually a quote from a book.
worst lyric? some kind of a cheese, sweet lady

I would agree there...always made me cock a brow..
"You call me sweet...like some sort of cheese..."
"Sweet Lady".

As this is a recycled topic, I will use my recycled reply from February of this year:
"Please Lord, give me strength. As mentioned previously, the NRA states "guns don't kill people, people do." So when Brian's lyric says people got shot by people, "PEOPLE...WITH...GUNS", it's in the form of a rebuttal to the ridiculous people of the NRA who refuse to acknowledge the role guns play in the deaths of their fellow citizens. It's like everybody elses other cringe worthy line of Brian's from Sweet Lady where his woman sings "you call me sweet like I'm some kind of cheese." People here have posted that cheese isn't sweet (though of course there is sweet cheese), but the point isn't about cheese. Listen to how Freddie sings the line. He sings it in the tone of "give me a break, I'm sick of your bullshit games" with his tongue firmly in cheek. It's not literal, it's an expression, and much like "people with guns", it makes a point. There are 100 more cringe worthy lines in the catalogue than these two."
I will now resume beating my head against the wall.
