You know, as much as we all love Queen here, they are not the center of the musical universe, as I'm sure you'd agree with me on.
It's possible he likes this type of music, and it's not a PR move to reach the Queen audience.

I've heard a few songs of his, seen some of the videos and he didn't make much of an impression on me. He seems a little pretentious to me, but I don't know. I haven't listened very much to his songs.

I bought the album yesterday and must say that I am very impressed with it. At first I did not really know if I would like him but the album really is great.

Agree with Pieter. I'm enjoying the cd quite a bit. And no, he doesn't remind me of Freddie (nor did/do The Darkness.).

There are some instances on the album where I think he sounds Freddie-esque. I don't think Mika is trying to rip Freddie off, though. He sings much higher overall and doesn't have Freddie's range. I do like the album, and I really wasn't expecting to.

I honestly don't think so. The album sounds nothing like Queen or Freddie. Sure there are the odd moments that you could possibly say that he kinda sounds like Freddie, mostly on Grace Kelly, but I really don't think he is trying to sound Queen like.
