and you that you are an expert critic of Queen shows quality why don´t you either:

1)thank the person that generously posted it here.
2)share a better version yourself cos apart from attacking people I´ve never seen a post with something you give.
3)buy a Delorean and travel back to 1986 and record it yourself with excellent quality from the 1st row?
That's rich, coming from someone who criticized my Toronto 78 compilation without thanking the taper or compiler, saying it was the "same shows over and over again", ignoring the fact that it was a compilation of two different versions of a tape to create the best possible version.

Oh, Lord, I always knew that L-R-FUCKER was a fucking mental handicapped but what surprises me is that he had reached a new level...

So useless trying to reply to him.

Thank God we have people with the knowledge and generosity as Bob.

I see this discussion all the time, and never comes to an end.
When I started to share some Queen + PR recordings (2005 and 2006) a lot of people said "thanks" for sharing those... But I never saw a taper criticizing me (only some people criticizing the quality and lack of lineage).

The only I did was share what I had in return to what I've got from here and The Hub. I know I helped to increase some people collection's, but it's the least I could do for all what I've got. The only I never could get was Washington 2006 DVD... I tried but it was impossible.

When I shared these, I always asked to the person who gave them to me if I could share them... And the asnwer was yes. In other times the answer was no and I still have those recordings waiting to the "yes".

Thank you Rick for this share. I'll certainly enjoy it... and well, since I don't know how to split tracks, I'll wait for Alex's work :)
I offered these few things to you in trade, all of which you declined because you didn't want to part with any of your gems in return.  You made up excuses about being forced to promise not to trade your recordings, but it's a blatant lie and you know it.  The recordings I asked for are fair game with no restrictions. The only restrictions are the ones you have chosen to impose all on your own.

Ducksoup:
Which ones are you talking about? You never asked about Rotterdam or the Hague.
I don't have The Hague (yet) and never told you about Rotterdam. Queen related masters (wich are what most of my masters are) are not of your interest so I'm quite curious what recordings you are talking about Bob.

I do have a BIG problem with you telling other collectors who hoard what to do.
I'm not telling anyone what to do.  I just find it a bit unfair that you reject trade offers for recordings like this one from Leiden 86, yet you download them when they're shared here and you give nothing back.  Something you taped a few years ago is not giving back, and it is certainly no huge feat when dozens (or even hundreds) of people are at every show taking pictures and recording with their cell phones and mini-disc recorders.

LOL! So now you are telling me what to download and or share?

Also, funny to hear from someone who is always so concerned with preserving quality. Did I really hear you saying recordings from cell phones and mini disc recorders?

Why do you think it's your task to decide what I have to give back? If I want to give back a Queen + Paul Rodgers show wich I'm sure many people will like I do so. If you don't appreciate the offer, fine. I'm not putting Rotterdam 2005 online for you then apparently. Lots of other fans are happy with it. About Leiden 86: Rick and I emailed a few times and I offered him a lot of rare uncirculated queen related masters. We didn't came to an agreement. Pitty.  Of course, I download the master when it's offered for free. Just like everybody else. Thanks to Rick.

Thirty years ago, however, few people had the equipment (never mind being able to bring the gear inside, as it was generally much bigger), nor did they have the money to spend on blank tape, as that cost about 5x as much as your ticket.  And they didn't have the internet to quickly make contact with other collectors.  Today it's virtually impossible for a recording to fall into obscurity like it easily could back then.  Tracking down one of these people now and getting their tapes out there is of far more value, as a piece of history is being located, preserved, and shared.  No matter who taped it, a recording from 2005 does not compare to someone liberating a 30-year-old tape of a band in their prime.  Of course you know this.  This is why you chose to share a 2005 recording instead of something that's much older with historical value.

Again, Why do you think you can tell me what I have to give back? If I want to share a Queen + PR master from 2005 wich I think many people will like, I do so. If you don't like it. Fine. But Bob, you must understand that you are not the person who tells me what to share.

How's this for an idea?  You share your Rotterdam 78 silent 8mm video, and I'll share my Montreal 77 silent 8mm video.  Next you share your Hague 74 audience recording, and I'll share alternate sources of every 1980s Brussels concert (12-12-80, 12-13-80, 4-22-82, 4-23-82, 8-24-84, 9-21-84, and 6-17-86).  THEN everyone wins.

The Hague might be an option. I don't have it yet. We can discuss it later.
Rotterdam is no option. I only want uncirculated 8mm footage in return. I'm not trading it with anyone I don't thrust 100% with it. I don't want it to leak. Why is that so hard for you to understand?
That circle is very very small.
And that circle is a very limited one, so you're only deluding yourself if you think you and your few friends have the monopoly over every Queen tape that has ever existed.
Yes limited indeed. Monopoly? Please don't be silly. I care for my own masters. That's all. Sometimes I share something, sometimes I don't.
You alluded to uncirculated recordings back then, and those are them, or among them.  You refused to even tell me which shows they were, as part of your outdated method of trading secrecy.  Just because you didn't tell me yourself doesn't mean I didn't know about them.
Also, funny to hear from someone who is always so concerned with preserving quality. Did I really hear you saying recordings from cell phones and mini disc recorders?
Yes, you did.  However, contrary to the transparent way you're trying to spin it, I did not speak in favour of those formats as optimal methods of quality preservation, but rather as one of many ways to illustrate how recordings of recent shows are not as unusual or hard to come by as ones from 30 years ago.  I really didn't think it was that difficult to understand.
you must understand that you are not the person who tells me what to share
I'm not telling you what you share.  I'm just exposing the reasoning for your selected sharing for everyone to consider.
The Hague might be an option. I don't have it yet. We can discuss it later.
Excellent.
Rotterdam is no option. I only want uncirculated 8mm footage in return. I'm not trading it with anyone I don't thrust 100% with it.
It's unfortunate that, in your mind, trust = hoarding.
I don't want it to leak. Why is that so hard for you to understand?
The fact that I disagree with your reasoning doesn't mean I don't understand.

Well. That's clear then.
You do your shares (and hoarding) and I'll do mine.

I will contact you as soon as I have the The Hague tape.
Will keep you posted.
