This just in, from Queen Online Shop to my email inbox
I am almost tempted to buy this one, just for the rare/uncommon sleeves for Hammer to Fall and One Year of Love, particularly the first one, which is insanely expensive.
RELEASED 31st MAY - PRE-ORDER NOW

The 3rd instalment of Queen: The Singles Collections, box 3 continues the story from the mid 1980s. Ultimately, the four boxes will offer every one of Queen's singles to have made the top 40 anywhere in the world (with the exception of 'Keep Yourself Alive' which is included in Vol 1 because it was the first ever single).
Queen hit singles become a virtual certainty, with the release of each successive album, each one musically a departure from the last, and, significantly, featuring compositions from all four band members. Queen is to date the only group whose members have all written No. 1 hits around the world. Box 3 includes first single 'A' side to be written by all 4 members of the band: 'One Vision'.
10 out of the 14 'A' sides were top 10 singles worldwide and this set contains 8 non studio album tracks.

Volume 1 came out in December 2008.
Volume 2 came out in June 2009.
Why the F*** have we had to wait 11 months for volume 3?
We should be getting volume 4 out in May/June, not volume 3.
I hope we don't have to wait until the middle of 2011 for volume 4 because that will be two WASTED years of uninteresting Queen releases :(

I just opened this up for discussion in the General section, haha.
It looks like there might be two cheats in there.
I'm not sure "Friends Will Be Friends" was ever released with "Princes Of The Universe" as a b-side anywhere.
The QUEEN9 single was only released with the following tracks:
7" Single:
Who Wants To Live Forever (Single Version)
Killer Queen
12" Single:
Who Wants To Live Forever (Single Version)
Who Wants To Live Forever
Killer Queen
Forever
On the SC3 box just announced, it's listed as:
Who Wants To Live Forever
Forever
It's possible they plan to use the Single Version and forgot to mention it, but that still means it doesn't represent an existing original 7" single, which I thought was the point of these collections, that they're reproductions. As far as I've been able to see "Forever" only ever appeared on the 12" single (listed above) and CD versions of the album.
And yes, it appears that between SC2 and SC3, we'll have the entire Works album (with single versions) reproduced. Too bad we didn't get the "Machines (Instrumental)."

The reason Princes is on the same single as Friends is because we made this the first double 'A' side CD single in this series. It was the only way we could include Princes in the box as it was a legitimate Top 30 single. We could afford to lose the original 'B' side of Seven Seas on Friends because that is on Box 1 and the desision was made not to repeat any of the tracks throughout this series.

The same goes for Who Wants To Live Forever, we didn't want Killer Queen repeated so the most obvious choice was the instrumental Forever from the 12" single.
I think most people would agree that this was the most sensible decision and you get Forever on CD single for the first time.

>>and you get Forever on CD single for the first time.
Which, of course, you can't actually get anywhere else at all. Certainly not on a REAL CD.
Ha ha - they seriously *DO* think that they are doing us a favour releasing this shit, don't they? My assumption was that they didn't actually know what they are doing, but turns out they DO and they REALLY have no idea......

Are you planning to use the Single Version of Who Wants To Live Forever? It would be nice to have that remastered on CD for the first time.
So, you must be aware that you're going encounter repeats of the '70s tracks when you reach "The Show Must Go On" and the Made In Heaven singles. I'm interested in seeing how those get handled.

GVH2 DVD - 2003
GVH3 DVD - it's been 9 years since GVH1 was released... and still no words about it

Next year will be 20 years since Innuendo was published. Could be a great occasion for an associated release of video.

If GT reads this - it would be great to have a properly remastered / remixed Innuendo album (I want to hear some bass there, and not synths) and a DVD similar to the ANATO 30th anniversary release :-)

Damn, I was hoping for the live b-sides from the Miracle would make an appearance. What another box of shit.
GT · Member since
The 'live' 'b' side is not due til the next single on The Miracle, so that will be for the next box, not this one.

Fuck Two Worlds Apart, Victory, Wooley Hat, Hangman or Sandbox - we now have Forever on CD-single. * laughs manically *

Forever is one of the bonustracks on the European CD and on the Hollywood Records CD.
Well...my CD's must be fake than...
